"Patrick responded quickly to my request for a quote. He was able to schedule my project within my timeframe. He kept in good communication regarding material deliveries and project completion. The end result was amazing holiday lighting for my commercial mall property. The tenants and customers love the added Christmas decor. Would recommend him to other owners for this work."

"I highly recommend Danny for any lawn care or landscaping needs. He has been absolutely wonderful to work with reliable, hardworking, and always honest, which is something I truly value. Danny has helped us maintain our lawn with great care and attention to detail, and he has also done an excellent job planting trees for us. No matter the task, he takes it on with a positive attitude and never complains. His dedication and work ethic are impressive, and I’m confident he has a bright future ahead of him. I would recommend Danny without hesitation!"

Small jobs welcome

"I hired Castros for a one time back yard clean up and front and side yard maintenance. They did the first mowing on the day we planned, and did a nice job. That was 2 weeks ago and they haven't been back to mow the front again. Now it is the Holiday weekend, I am hoping that they will come by soon to mow the front. I will have a better idea how well I like them once we get on a regular schedule."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

You can choose to hang Christmas lights on either gutters or shingles—either option is fine. If you have gutter covers, shingles may be your only option. But, all-in-one clips are designed for both applications.

An affordable Christmas light bulb testing and replacement tool can make the job easier. But you can most likely make all necessary repairs yourself using common toolbox items if you’d rather avoid purchasing another gadget.

In the Christmas days of yore, people braved winter weather to staple or tack their Christmas lights onto their rooftops or nearby surfaces like the fascia boards. Problems quickly emerged with that approach. Damage to the roof, even small marks from staples, provides entryways for moisture and similar issues that can hasten roof rot, wear, and associated leaks. Plus, some homes had tough fiber cement boards or other materials where staples and screws didn’t work.

During the holidays, big box hardware stores sell many kinds of clips and hooks made specifically for hanging Christmas lights—including ridge clips, gutter clips, shingle clips, and mounted hooks. It’s best to avoid nails, staples, and screws since they can damage your roof.

Christmas trees need about 100 lights per foot, so you would need 700 lights for a 7-foot tree.
