They worked really well with our other contractors (Tile, etc.), and when they discovered some problems with the way our soaking tub was going to be installed, the put in extra work to work around the issues the *correct* way. They don't take short-cuts, they do the job right the first time. One thing you don't realize is how important communication is. At several points for the tub and shower, they stopped and discussed with us to make sure they installed everything exactly the way we wanted (often pointing out issues we hadn't anticipated). And their final bill came in right on the estimate, despite extra work we know that they put in to make the job perfect. We had another contractor that was a nightmare, what a relief to work with Bruner! We can't recommend them highly enough! Outstanding!"

Wallpaper lasts an average of around 15 years, but there is some variance. The type of wallpaper matters, as vinyl wallpaper tends to last the longest—sometimes 20 years or more—while a peel-and-stick wallpaper, which is the easiest to install for DIYers, will usually only last for around five years. Exposure to high humidity, smoke, and UV rays from sunlight can also limit the lifespan of your wallpaper, as can heavy traffic in the installation area.

The easiest way to remove wallpaper is to use a steamer. The hot steam will loosen the wallpaper paste and make peeling the wallpaper off in large sheets much easier. Unfortunately, steamers can create irreparable damage on your walls, so it’s not a good idea for DIYers to use steamers to remove wallpaper. Instead, hire a professional wallpaper remover to do the work for you. This method will not only speed up the process, but it will also ensure your walls will remain intact post-wallpapering.

To remove pre-pasted wallpaper, you’ll need to wet the wallpaper or steam it to loosen the paste on the back of the wallpaper. Spray the paper with water, then let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. From there, you should be able to peel off the wallpaper. Then, you may need to follow up with a cleaning solution and a scraper to remove any remaining wallpaper paste on the walls.
