"This is the third time we've hired James Neider of Ace Stove and Home services, once to restore the operation of a gas fireplace and to replace a door seal that no one else had in stock, (2) install and plumb in a gas hearth stove and hearth and lastly to repair the pilot assembly and clean out a gas fireplace, and to restore operation.
Jim arrived on time and repaired the pilot assemble on the gas fireplace. adjusted the flame and cleaned the fireplace operating assembly and the front glass door., Everything worked perfectly when the job was complete.
Charges were paid as agreed, and no over charge was requested. at 2964 NE Lotno Dr., Bend OR.

"Great. We have learned to communicate well. We walk through jobs before getting started. He is punctual and finishes on time. He completes what was promised. He addresses any issues promptly. He recently replaced my roof and i found out later that he drove by after the job was completed just to double check that there were no issues with the work. It had been raining hard and Travis knew I was out of town. He explained quality was important. That word of mouth can make our break his company's reputation. I really appreciated that kind of follow up. His work has included completion of shop interior: New bathroom, laundry room, loft, exterior doors, and entryway covers, all associated electrical and plumbing, On existing house: New roof, gutters, new siding, replacement of all windows, and new paint."

"Two painters arrived and it was clear that one was inexperienced. The "Big Deal" called for a full day painter or two painters for four hours. The one painter with experience had to stop what he was doing on several occasions and help the other one out. Needless to say the job progressed slowly and I called RSU and told them about this. The experienced painter came back the next day and finished the job, but it cost me another 199.00.

"They did a real good job. They were real professional. We can now open the garage door from the inside of the house and now it is so smooth that we have to check to see if we hit the button to open it or close it.  Before we used to know when it was opening or closing because it used to make a noise. It helps when you move to a city where you are new. "

Repair Carport questions, answered by experts

Although dependent on the type and size of lumber, most 2-by-4-by-8-foot pieces of lumber cost anywhere from $3 to $6. Softwood lumber like pine falls on the lower end of the spectrum, while hardwood lumber like oak or walnut falls on the higher end. Different retailers and lumber yards can also vary in price, so it helps to shop around to compare prices.

Buying a pre-made carport is cheaper than building one from scratch. Pre-made carports, especially kits, often include materials and sometimes installation, with prices starting as low as $300 for basic single-vehicle models. Building a custom carport requires purchasing individual materials, ranging from $12 to $40 per square foot, depending on the type, plus labor costs if you hire a pro. Pre-made options are often more cost-effective and hassle-free for most homeowners.

A board foot is a volumetric unit and is primarily used for pricing and planning larger projects where volume is a factor. Pricing lumber by the board foot aids in understanding exactly how much wood you’re purchasing, as volume is a more accurate unit of measurement compared to square feet.

Yes, in all cases, it should be more affordable to build your own carport than it would be to hire a professional to do the work. The material costs can sometimes cost a little more through a professional because they can mark it up for delivery and procurement costs. You’ll also save hundreds or thousands on labor fees if you install your carport yourself.

Carports are commonly constructed from metals like steel, aluminum, and galvanized metal. These materials are popular choices due to their strength, durability, low maintenance requirements, adaptability, and longevity in various climates.
