"Excellent attention to detail. Did not tell me they were going to schedule a return visit a week later. Grass does not grow that fast and I did not hire them for weekly visits."

"You couldn't have any branches within 30 feet from your house. They cleared a bunch of trees from the driveway so that firefighters could get up. It's a government program. Certain things have to be done. They have to cut a certain distance for fire danger. They did what they were supposed to. When Gerald came out, he passed it right away. I thought they did a pretty good job. They came out when they were supposed to. What stood out about their service is well, it passed. They did what they were supposed to. It's a government program, so the inspector came up. You had to pay the company; he'd come up, okay it. Then, you hand the government invoice and then they send you a check within five weeks for the work that was done, but you paid. It had to be OK'd. The government, they come up and tell you, okay this is what we will pay for doing this job, I think it was a thousand dollars for this job. So, they just said yeah we can do it for that and they did it for that and it passed the first time. They did the job in one day. They cleaned up after themselves. They didn't drop anything on the house or break anything."

Plant Watering questions, answered by experts

You should always hang drywall from the top down. Starting at the top makes it easier to create a straight, tight line between the ceiling and the wall. Any gaps that occur will be at the bottom, where they are easier to manage. You can either cut the bottom piece of drywall to fit the remaining space or cover the gap with baseboard trim. Additionally, starting at the top is physically easier, as you won't have to fit the top sheet into a tight space between the lower sheet and the ceiling, or try to balance the upper sheets on the lower ones while securing them.

Yes, you can hammer a nail into a wall stud. But before you do, it’s important to confirm that you’re actually nailing into a stud—and not wiring, pipes, or ductwork. To check, find a few more studs in the wall, then measure to make sure they’re either 16 or 24 inches apart.

Drywall texture refers to the techniques used on the surface of drywall to create a pleasing visual or tactile effect. Depending on your desired outcome, drywall texture can range from incredibly subtle to a focal point of a room. Textures play a significant role in interior design and are an excellent and relatively cost-effective way to change the feeling of a room.

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

Drywalling a garage is a smart decision if you want to protect your garage from fires, moisture damage, and exterior noise. Most garages have flammable supplies that could result in serious damage in the off chance of an accident. Drywall is fire resistant, helping to prevent fires from spreading. Not to mention, drywall can improve the appearance of a dingy, old garage.
