"We have found their customer service to always be helpful however we have had a lot of problems with the components that they send out for home owners to install themselves. We have had trouble keeping those things in place you know if the door heats or cools too much the adhesive on the door monitor will fall off.  We have had a number of false alarms with the front door system, they waived one for us when I was able to demonstrate that their call had not reached my phone although their records said that they had called and I believe that they did but my records show that I never received the call which was also true so they agree to waive it but we have paid for one false alarm where the Seattle police have come out and we've had numerous other false alarms, mostly related to a motion detector in our living room so were kind of living in an ambivalent situation at some point right now where basically when you buy that package and install everything you commit to like a two, you know its like having a cell phone you commit to a multi year contract. We have at few times to get action out of them that we needed we have threatened to leave and threatened  to really push the issue, we haven't done that yet. Another thing is we had enough issues with component install at the back door of our house does not have a door open detector on it it just simply wouldn't work for us so the house is only partially protected. I wouldn't recommend Frontpoint to anyone right now I think there a lot of bugs that aren't well worked out. It hasn't lived up to it's so-called A reputation."

"Dirty Ed's was prompt, punctual, and delivered the promised service. Their assessment of the needed repairs was accurate and their bid for the custom chimney cap and brick and mortar repairs was VERY fair and competitive. I would use them again for any chimney/fireplace need. They were very responsive by phone and adaptable to scheduling needs. They also inspected the dry vent (which needed NO cleaning) at no extra cost. A first rate operation!"

"He did a careful and thorough job. Others have commented on how nice it looks now. I’m selling my house soon and I’m going to give them his calling card. Mostly black mold but also heavy green moss in shaded areas. He has the proper equipment to do the job right."

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

The most common slope range for roofs on houses in snowy areas is between 4/12 and 6/12, or 50%. A roof with a slope of less than 10%, or roughly a 2/12 pitch, won’t be effective at shedding snow. However, roofs that are too steep can allow large amounts of snow to build up and fall all at once, creating a hazard for those on the ground.

Some homes, like those with flat roofs, may not have eaves at all. Some contemporary-style homes also lack eaves, although many may have abbreviated eaves to divert water and protect the walls and foundation. Homes without eaves often have specific types of gutters affixed directly to the edge of the roof to provide adequate drainage.

Sometimes. Professionals may be able to remove the old roof and re-attach it when completed, depending on your blueprints. That can help you save money. But this method is not without its risks. Larger roofs may crack during the transportation process. And if the roof is old or has problems, it may be better to replace it entirely. Keeping the old roof isn’t always possible if you are making significant alterations to the roofline.

The most obvious and severe sign of a roof leak is the presence of wet spots on your ceilings, specifically on the top floor of your home. You can also identify a roof leak from your attic if you see sagging insulation or if you notice mold growth or water stains on the rafters or the underside of the roof deck. From the street, look for cracked or missing shingles, moss growth, and shingles that are curling upward, all of which can suggest a leak.

Your deck may pop, and your neighbor’s deck may not for a number of reasons. Whether or not a deck pops will depend on how it was made, the conditions it’s exposed to, and the materials. Improper spacing is a common reason for increased pressure between deck boards. Moisture penetration is another.
