"He is a very personable young man who always goes the extra step to do the job right. As a young man I owned a very successful full service yard and corporate maintenance and installation comp. So I have my wife interview for our services and no one gave her a fair and honest bid except him. It was a fair and honest price in line with what I would have charged. Other tried to take my wife for an over 10 times the price ride where I had to address them and ask them to leave my property. He treated my wife not only fair but I believe it's the same price he would have charged me,and that goes a long way with me."

"Omar gave us a good estimate on our project even giving us ideas to make it better. We needed an artificial turf potty area for our dogs installed in a hilly area next to our house. The crew came in a timely fashion, worked hard and got our project done within one day! This included layers of rock and sand and compaction. We are very happy with their work and would recommend this company!"

"I think they treated the wrong lawn. The note they sent me via text message referenced trees and shrubs in my yard, I have none. They also did not leave a yard marker showing they had been there. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star review."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

There are several ways to decompose yard waste quickly. The first step is to move all debris into a compost bin or pile. From there, microorganisms, bacteria, and insects will break down the yard waste into compost. To speed things up, shred the waste into smaller pieces, add live worms to the pile, or introduce nitrogen-rich compost accelerators like grass clippings, coffee grounds, and manure. Turn the compost over every few days. This process, called aerating, allows oxygen to get in and accelerate decomposition.

To prepare your lawn for core aeration, water it the day before you aerate. (Alternatively, you can wait until it rains and aerate the following day.) Aerating after watering or a rainy day will make the process easier since you can penetrate moist soil better than dry soil. You should also flag your sprinklers so that you don’t accidentally hit them while aerating. If you have a lot of thatch buildup in your yard, you might need to dethatch your lawn before aerating as well.

Several leaf-removal tools are available to make this annual process easier, including a leaf grabber, leaf tarps, leaf blowers, and leak vacuums. Each piece of equipment works differently, but they all achieve the same goal of picking up leaves as quickly and easily as possible.

Skunks like to forage for grubs in the soil, like worms and insects, but they are also tempted by trash and pet food bowls, so keeping these items out of sight may help keep skunks away. Skunks also like to set up a den in dark places, such as a crawl space or outbuilding.

The best way to landscape your front yard on a budget is to invest in hiring a professional for hardscaping—things like upgrading walkways, redoing driveways, and installing partitions around garden beds. You can often do the softscaping yourself—think laying down mulch, caring for your lawn, removing weeds, and planting flowers and shrubs. It’s also almost always worthwhile to pay a professional for routine yard maintenance, as this dramatically improves curb appeal and delivers above 100% ROI in most cases.
