"D Jay is the man, I hired him to install crown molding in my home. He did the job perfectly and his attitude was great easy to work with and was up for anything. I had him back over to paint and install light fixtures and fix some old wiring in the house as well. He really can do it all. 5 stars over and over again. Definitely would recommend him."

I help with the technical and physical projects around the house that you may not have the time or tools for. I've spent years figuring out how things work and how to fix them, so I focus on finding the most efficient and durable solution for whatever is in front of me. I handle everything from furniture assembly and home theater setups to swapping out light fixtures, faucets, and general maintenance.\n\nI try to work within a roughly 50-mile radius of Portland; covering Vancouver, Hillsboro, out as far as Gov't Camp, down toward Salem, etc. My goals are customer service and communication; honesty and clarity, and I treat your home and any belongings I'd touch with, at minimum, the same care and cleanliness as my own.

"It was a quick fix I probably could have done myself. I'm glad I had it done professionally, though. Now I know it won't leak and will operate in the manner it should."

Small jobs welcome

"We had Moore Handyman Services rehang some kitchen cabinets whose hinges had broken, finish the edge of our fireplace from where we had removed carpet, and repair a baseboard that our dog had chewed. Brett completed the work quickly, as requested, and at a very reasonable price. We already have booked him for another project. I highly recommend this business."

Childproofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are designed to be safe for use in homes with children. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the electrical slots when not in use, which helps protect children from electric shock if they try to insert an object. While they are the safest option available and highly effective, it's important to note that few things are truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug. For this reason, it's best to use tamper-resistant outlets over less effective solutions like plastic covers, which can be removed or pose a choking hazard. Always supervise young children around any electrical outlets or devices.

In many cases, you can DIY home childproofing with success. You can purchase childproofing tools like cabinet locks, outlet covers, and table-edge guards and install them easily.

However, it's best to have a professional childproofing service work on larger projects like pool safety or furniture anchoring. These safety measures can take a lot of time and effort to DIY, plus, you want to ensure the tasks are done correctly to keep your child safe.

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are a safe and effective way to protect children from electrical hazards. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the outlet slots when not in use, preventing a child from inserting foreign objects. While they are the safest option available, it's important to note that few things can be considered truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug, so constant supervision around any electrical device is recommended. Tamper-resistant outlets are a much safer solution than childproofing covers, which can be removed by children and may pose a choking hazard.

Many parents, especially first-time parents, agree that professional childproofing is worth it. These professional childproofing services are trained to recognize dangerous home situations that many people would overlook until it's too late. Furthermore, professional childproofing experts have access to top-of-the-line equipment you can't purchase at most stores, providing longevity and peace of mind.

The best time to hire a childproofing professional is at least three months before your due date. Although it might seem early, proper childproofing takes time, especially if you need extensive services like a pool fence. Getting your house ready now before your child is on the go only helps to protect them at all stages of life.
