For over 25 years, All Seasons Landscaping has been providing top quality landscape services. Our top priority is the satisfaction of our customers and that is why we take our time to make sure everything is up to your standards. We let out work speak for itself. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to working with you.

"I am very pleased with Dylan's work ethic. He is thorough, quick, and efficient. As an older person, he can do the maintenance in the yard that I can no longer do, which is so helpful. We have a big Sequoia tree that drops needles all year, and several brick areas that fill with weeds and it is so nice to see all those areas beautifully contained. I'm very happy to find someone that will show up and help out. "

"Phenomenal work ethic, after the severe winter, I had an overgrown backyard and a tree that required care. Not only did they mow, weed eat, and trim the brush from my fence, they also removed all yard waste and cut broken branches from my tree. They took the stress of dealing with it over several days and turned it into a single day of work. Kind people, and would highly recommend them for any yard service needed!"

GrassRoots is licensed with Landscape Contractors Board (#9202), bonded and insured, and also carry worker's compensation insurance on all employees.

"I had big plans for my back yard and initially thought I could do most of the work myself, despite not being a fan of yard work. I wanted a new patio with walkway around the house, to remove most of my lawn and replace it with other plantings, and eventually get a cover for my deck. Well, after a couple years of chipping away at it, and then a pandemic, I decided it was finally time to just hire professionals. In May I met with Phil from GrassRoots to go over my current yard and my vision of what I was looking to do, he offered many great suggestions (including using stamped concrete instead of paver stones for the patio and path). We went back and forth over the design details, taking our time to get things right (after all, I was in no hurry). He let me know that the work would be done in phases, each time squeezing between their other jobs. He hands me off to Tim who oversaw the work. Starting in mid-October the demo team cleared out the existing lawn to prep in the first day. A week later the team came out and spent two days laying the gravel base and installing the retaining walls for the concrete pour. Two weeks later the concrete team poured and stamped the concrete, and then removed the retaining walls a couple days after that. At that point the softscape team showed up and blew in the dirt, installed the new sod, and got really excited showing me the plantings they picked out as they placed them in their pots around the yard to get my okay with where they had arranged everything. A few days later the carpenters showed up to install the new deck cover, which looks absolutely stunning! After the first rain, I noticed that the runoff from the deck cover was splattering the fresh bark they had installed, so they came out and added some decorative gravel there to catch the rain. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I'm so glad I finally decided to go with the professionals on this project. I'm looking forward to the spring when everything starts to grow, and in a few years when the bushes fill in."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Buying topsoil in bulk or a bag depends on how much area you’re trying to cover. Even if it goes on sale, bagged topsoil isn’t as cheap as buying it in bulk, but transporting bulk topsoil can become cumbersome if you don’t have the proper truck. If you can find an easy delivery option and have the space to store a large amount of topsoil, buying in bulk will give you more bang for your buck.

Pea gravel is a type of gravel that is generally smaller and rounder than regular gravel. It's usually made from river rock and is available in a wide range of colors. Thanks to its soft, round shape, pea gravel is more comfortable to walk on compared to standard gravel, which can have sharp edges. A drawback of pea gravel is that it can scatter more easily than other gravel types.

Yes, you can put topsoil over sand to encourage grass growth. The topsoil will help to improve water retention and promote grass roots’ development, making it a recommended step of the seeding process. Adding a layer of topsoil will provide additional nutrients to the sandy soil, helping the grass grow and remain healthy through many seasons.

Depending on the size of the river rock and the density of your soil, add woven landscape fabric or sand under river rock. The extra layer will ensure your river rock sits evenly and doesn't create puddles or uneven areas throughout the design. In some cases, nothing is necessary beneath river rock, but be sure to speak with a landscaper to keep your landscaping looking sharp.

When it rains, decomposed granite can become muddy and mushy in texture and start to wash away, leading to erosion of the surface. Decomposed granite’s inability to endure heavy rainfall is one of its biggest drawbacks.
