"The project went very well! The final product is absolutely gorgeous! Our lead contractor was so kind, talented, and professional. The team listened to our desires, helped thoughtfully design our remodel with our budget in mind, and followed through with our many requests and questions. They were super flexible with our living in the house throughout the project, and were helpful and courteous in many ways. In Your Home is a great way to go! We could not have done this kind of a remodel without them. We highly recommend their services!"

"I had been putting off getting some items done around my house. I needed help getting a new shower head and a slide bar. I have MS. I just finished 6 months of chemo and surgery for blood cancer. I found David. He responded immediately to my inquiry. His rates were posted and all his reviews were great. I had looked on other sites and inquired. Once I connected with him I knew he was it. I had to get an arsenal of options for the shower head He contacted me to schedule. He came on time was meticulous in his work. He cleans up and he comes with his supplies. He had a trailer that looked like a well supplied workshop. He has a keen eye for detail. He replaced the caulking in my kitchen and master bath including the sinks. He helped me select the correct shower head. He was able to install a hand held shower bracket that didn't require a slide bar. The installation is perfect. Contact this professional, you will be pleased with the results."

"I talked to many people to get quotes and to inquire about the service of getting my house painted. It was hard to find somebody that I felt I could trust. When I found D&N I knew right away that I could trust them. The job got done quickly and in the estimated time. Communication was clear and effective. I would 100% recommend them to paint your house!"

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

You can tackle hanging Christmas lights yourself with the right tools, accessories, and a trusted friend or neighbor. You’ll need to purchase a ladder ($100 to $300), clips ($10 to $20), hooks ($10 to $15), and lights ($25 to $100 per string).

Otherwise, you should hire a trusted holiday light installer near you. You’ll pay an average price of $200 to $650, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and safely.

Rates vary by task complexity and time, often providing cost-effective solutions for homeowners.

The cost to hire a handyman can vary, with most charging on a per-hour or per-project basis. On average, expect to pay between $50 and $150 per hour, with a typical rate around $90 per hour. For project-based work, the average cost is about $400, though the total can range from as low as $180 to $1,500 or more. Some handypeople may also require a minimum flat rate, such as payment for two hours of work.

Several factors influence the final cost, including:

  • The type, size, difficulty, and complexity of the job

  • The amount of time the work takes

  • The handyman's experience level

  • Your geographic location

  • The cost of materials and any necessary permits

  • Accessibility of the work area and potential travel costs

Additionally, you may encounter higher rates or extra fees for emergency services or work scheduled during holidays.

A handyperson is the professional term used to describe professional fixers who can tackle a wide range of general home repairs. Some pros may prefer to use the term handyworker, handyman, or handywoman, so we recommend politely asking your pro how they would like you to identify them during the project.

Reviewing your contract for termination terms is best when ending a relationship with a contractor. If there is nothing in the contract or you had a verbal agreement, communicate your decision in writing, citing specific reasons. Afterward, pay for the completed work per your original agreement. Remember you want a record of all correspondence in case you need a lawyer later to settle disputes.
