"My carport collapsed from very wet, heavy snow. Even though it was a very busy time for him, Matt Hunter came up with a week of when I contacted him. The final cost of the job was less than his estimate and the new carport is much sturdier and better looking than the previous one. He also installed two handrails for the staircase inside my house and a grab bar in my shower. The cost was more than fair and the quality of the finished work was great. I would highly recommend Matt for any construction project."

Their coating became porous & brittle within a month & after finally getting one of their project leads to my home for inspection, which was an ordeal in & of itself, they admitted a faulty job, offered me 50% discount on the condition that they could come back & redo the project when it fit my schedule better & I would pay them the 50% back. However I have not received the discount yet & I have had to reach back out to them to request it & now all I’m getting is a request to leave a review. Lol"

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.

Mudjacking should last for five to 10 years, so it’s considered a temporary solution to sinking concrete. However, there are some cases where mudjacking fails before this time period, like if you have loose soil below the concrete or a karst landscape is to blame for the sinking concrete. Some mudjacking projects can last for well beyond a decade, depending on the underlying issue.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be good solutions to sinking concrete, depending on your situation. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam to lift concrete, is a better option than mudjacking because the foam weighs less and won’t contribute to additional sinking. Polyjacking can be a suitable solution for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is normally only a good option for non-structural concrete, like sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and concrete driveways. However, polyjacking costs much more—as much as $25 per square foot, compared to the maximum of $6 per square foot you’d pay for mudjacking.

Mudjacking normally takes between one to three days to dry completely. The larger the project area, the more time it will take to dry. You should not walk on the concrete or place furniture or vehicles on the lifted concrete until it’s completely cured, which a pro can help determine. If you’re polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can take just a few minutes to dry, but wait an hour to be sure.
