"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

Lack of durability is the most significant downside of painting tile. However, a painted tile backsplash doesn't see the same kind of action as, say, painted flooring tiles. Painting in ideal temperatures (between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit) with moderate humidity and ample ventilation is the best way for your paint to dry properly. You can turn on box fans and crack open windows to add circulation, but be sure no dust or debris gets on your wet walls. In the end, it’s best to be patient and ensure your paint is fully dry before applying a second coat or moving items back into a room.

Spraying and brushing both can lead to beautiful, evenly painted window shutters. Spraying is faster and easier, but it brings in an added cost, as paint sprayers are around $100 to buy or $40 per day to rent. If price is a determining factor, you can use a brush and rest assured that the results will be good nonetheless.

Dirty or not, you should always clean the wall beforehand. Even if the wall looks sparkling clean to the naked eye, it’s good practice to wipe it down with a damp rag and mild detergent. You should wait for caulk to cure before painting it. Silicone and acrylic latex caulk can take anywhere from one to 10 days to fully cure, and polyurethane may take 10 to 12 days to cure. Always follow the instructions on the label when it comes to painting over caulk because different types require different drying and curing times.
