"There was some confusion in the online set up process, which only allows for cost estimate according to volume, not weight. So even though I described the material to be hauled, when they arrived and realized I needed heavy chunks of concrete removed they had to reschedule since they needed different equipment. On the positive side, they hauled a small amount of “regular” junk the first day at no charge since they were already here. Other than the initial confusion or miscommunication, the job was done satisfactorily."

"Lance called me within 5 minutes of my contact via Angie's List. I didn't need the coupon b/c the cost was lower than coupon minimum. I needed time to clear out my garage so as soon as I finished, I called again and arranged a time and day for pickup (I called Friday, pickup was Monday). Sean called 5 minutes before scheduled time and arrived right on time and the guys removed all of my trash and the mattress and box spring. I will call them again the next time I need any hauling services. They were great!"

"We hired them twice within the past 4 months: the time when we sold our home and when we purchased a new house. At the both time we called only a few days before the moving day and we were happy that they were able to squeeze us in their schedule. I personally Thank Raf for granting my request of not wearing shoes at our new home (well, we just cleaned the carpet and we have a toddler and I'm Japanese!). I put a big canvas cloth in the formal living room by the front door and asked them to put boxes and furniture as much as they could. And once the canvas area was full they removed their shoes and moved the boxes to the assigned rooms. I know it was not easy so, Much Arigato!! We moved on a week day and my husband was at work at the both time. Moving with a toddler was already handful but those guys made it much easier for me. Thanks! We will definitely hire them if we ever move again."

"I needed help removing some overgrown shrubs and a scrubby, dandelion filled "lawn". They made special accommodations to bring in a tiller and literally tilled out the entire lawn leaving nothing but bare dirt. I later planted a garden with a walkway to replace it. 3 guys came out in the morning and spent a few hours removing everything. Crew arrived 45 minutes late due to traffic, but i think that's reasonable. I paid them an extra $30 to have them take away the cut down shrubs. I kept the tilled-out grass as mulch instead of paying more to have them dump it. Having them take care of this huge job was much better than trying to do it all myself."

Garbage Removal questions, answered by experts

You may be able to install a garbage disposal on your own, especially if you're handy or have some experience with plumbing. However, if you have any concerns or want to make absolutely sure that the connections are installed correctly, you may be better off hiring a local garbage disposal installer to do the job.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

When a dishwasher discharges its wastewater, it uses a pump to quickly move a lot of water. If anything in the drain line or the garbage disposal impedes the high volume of water, it will back up into the sink through the drain or the garbage disposal. Following regular dishwasher maintenance tips like clearing clogs, keeping them cleared, and occasionally running the disposal will eliminate the problem.
