Small jobs welcome

"We hired Matt to put in a new paver patio with a trex landing and staircase in our backyard. He did a great job; our space is now usable and looks beautiful. We have gotten so many compliments! He gave us great suggestions when we werenâ t sure exactly what we wanted. He was on time, professional, clean, and just a really nice guy! We highly recommend him."

"Ian was fabulous to work with! He replaced the lattice skirting around the front and back of my second home in Eagle Crest. He maintained communications throughout the project and reached out to me regularly to discuss issues that surfaced during the project. Ian is also very professional in his documentation including providing pictures of the project. I highly recommend Ian and will request his services again."

"A Master of His Craft — Demren Turned Our Kitchen Into a Work of Art Working with Demren on our kitchen remodel has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Demren takes an incredible amount of pride in his work, something you can see, feel, and truly appreciate in every detail he touches. What started as a renovation turned into the creation of a true showpiece. From the custom-designed cabinets to the breathtaking center island, Demren poured his heart and soul into every inch of this kitchen and the results speak for themselves. The craftsmanship is nothing short of world-class. The cabinetry is elegant, flawlessly built, and tailored perfectly to our space. The centerpiece island is simply stunning and rich in detail, solid in build, and full of character. Every design choice reflects Demren’s passion for excellence and his rare artistic talent. What truly sets Demren apart, though, is the way he treats his work and his clients. He’s honest, incredibly friendly, and wen"

"Bryce and Matt, the owners of All Square Contractors were exception, in all phases, communication, quality of the workmanship was exceptional, they went well above and beyond the scope of the project. "Rory Stout Construction is Amazing! Rory is very personable with a great sense of humor! My husband and I hired him to build a pergola for our existing deck and he did a fantastic job! His attention to detail is top-notch and his suggestions for what works were well received. We also had him add pull-down screens to block the sun and added railings to both ends of the deck. We are extremely pleased with his work and the total cost was within our budget. We would certainly recommend Rory to anyone! Heâ  s great!"

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

Landscape timbers can last 10 to 20 years in the ground when installed correctly. Pressure-treated timbers will last longer than non-treated ones, as pressure treatment makes the wood more rot-resistant. Wood exposed to high moisture levels or extreme temperature and weather fluctuations may not last as long as wood in drier areas with more consistent weather.

If you don’t have a coping saw, you can use an angle grinder to cope crown molding, but it takes a little more precision. Place your molding down on your workbench, angle the grinder at a 45-degree angle toward the molding, and back cut the wood. You’ll need to carefully angle your grinder to accommodate the curves in the wood, and aim to remove around 1 inch from the profile of the molding.

Homeowners insurance may cover damaged floor joists, depending on your policy. Insurance typically covers issues from storms, fires, or water damage from burst pipes. However, don't expect your insurance company to cover damage from wear and tear, poor maintenance, or termites.

Building involves setting foundation posts, framing with durable wood, adding roofing support, and protecting from elements with water-resistant finishes.

Yes, Corian® and other solid surface countertops can be cut with standard woodworking tools like a circular saw or a jigsaw, but using the correct blade is crucial for the best results.

The recommended blade is a tungsten carbide-tipped blade, often called a solid-surface planer or triple chip grind blade. This type of blade is hard enough to cut through the material effectively. For a jigsaw, a fine-tooth down-cutting blade should be used.

It is important to note that a diamond blade is not necessary. Diamond blades are designed for harder materials like natural stone, concrete, or brick, and Corian is not a natural stone.

Using blades designed for wood is not recommended as they can cause microfractures that weaken the countertop's edges. While a tungsten carbide blade provides a much cleaner cut, the resulting edge will still be rough and must be sanded and smoothed to prevent microfractures from developing over time.
