Small jobs welcome

"Jon and his crew were amazing! They did an excellent job of prep beforehand to level out driveway where necessary, took into consideration my drainage concerns since our driveway runs downhill to the house and were awesome to work with on the day of the project. Our 2yr old is obsessed with trucks and his team was extremely kind and allowed him to check out the "big trucks" and didn't treat his prying eyes or questions as a hassle. Will definitely hire them again when we need to get our driveway sealed."

"Boy are they fast and VERY good at their work. I was more than impressed with the extra work these men did with out being asked. It was the best. I had debated about doing this but when London gave me the quote I knew it was a worthy investment. The men were careful and asked where the extra rock could be put. I am grinning ear to ear. I simply love the way the driveway looks and how it feels to drive on it. After 65 years of a gravel driveway. this is magic."

"In July of 2016, we had a 2000 sq ft driveway installed. It took about 2 days with a crew of 4 and they did an excellent job. The driveway looks very good. Our problem was with the PR guy, son-Conway. When winter came. the rain washed into the garage, so we called him to come and check out the problem. Then the trouble began; his phone 'mailbox' was always full--thus could not leave a message. I called the company phone and left a specific message to be related to the owner and father,William Stanley. I do not think he ever got the message. By now-it is 6 weeks later after sending emails and trying to leave messages on the phone. Finally, in an email, we said we were going to call the Attorney General. The next day, Conway showed up at the door (no return phone call) and we showed him the problem. His response was:" we will get to you in 7-10 days." Well, 2 weeks went by and we started trying to call and sent several emails, to no avail. Being frustrated, again we said we were contacting the AG and lo and behold--a crew showed up the next day to solve the drainage problem.( 3 months after the initial contact) His employee, Victor, attempted several different solutions and finally fixed the issue. Unfortunately, all the equipment and heating messed up that part of the driveway! In an email back to the company stating this new problem, we were again ignored. It is hard to rate a company on it's workers because the end result was acceptable. They just need a new PR representative."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Asphalt dries and cures best between 50 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This range allows moisture to evaporate quickly without causing the asphalt to cool too fast, which can negatively affect the drying process. However, keep in mind that other weather conditions can also affect curing and drying times, such as precipitation and humidity.

Gravel is the most economical and least expensive driveway material, costing between $1 and $3 per square foot. This is significantly cheaper than alternatives like asphalt or concrete. However, it's important to consider long-term costs, as gravel driveways require regular maintenance. You will likely need to add new gravel filling once or twice a year and regularly rake it to keep it level, which can add to the overall cost over time.

The decision to repair or replace your driveway depends on the extent of the damage. If your driveway has a few small cracks, a simple repair will do the trick. If you see larger cracks and potholes, it may be time to consider resurfacing or replacement. Resurfacing is a great option if more than 25% of the surface is damaged, but if the damage is extensive—deep cracks or significant sinking—it’s best to replace the driveway entirely. A new driveway, with proper care, can last decades while patching or resurfacing might only hold up for a few years before needing more attention.

Driveway paving costs around $4,500 on average, but depending on many factors, you could pay anywhere from $2,500 to $6,600 or more. The size of your driveway will usually be the most significant factor, with more square footage increasing your costs. You can expect to pay between $2 and $15 per square foot for paving services. Some other factors that play a role include the following:

  • Quality of the materials

  • Contractor’s experience and expertise

  • Site preparation and grading, if necessary

  • Layout of your driveway

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.
