"The project went well. The ladder install made a big mess but all was cleaned up. Decking install was good but area had to be reduced due to obstacles but still turned out to be plenty. Insulation was blown in and that also went well. I had some low gable vents that leaked the insulation that was blown up to them. I don’t think this could have been avoided, but that leakage blew back inside the back door and made a mess in the laundry room and kitchen. They offered to come back and clean this up but I went ahead and did the cleanup myself so it didn’t get tracked throughout the house. All things considered, I am very pleased with the job they did."

"

Update:  we had some issues with the heat a few times after install and AIRCO was VERY PROMPT in sending a technician out both times to the house to make the required adjustments to the system.  It is now June.  We have been using the AC and it seems to be working GREAT!  Can't even tell the AC is on but the house stays at the temperature we set it at.  Also been monitoring the electrical bills and so far looks like the bill will be $30 less this June as compared to last June's bill!

"The tear off crew was very careless about protecting our plants from debris damage. A very cavalier attitude towards safety. Had to fight to get them to wear fall protection on a steep and high roof. More than once I was told "We have good insurance" whether it involved worker safety or protection against rain damage. Called back to fix a leak, it took 4 phone calls and a visit to their office to get a response. When the repair was made all we received was a handwritten note that it was fixed - no details.

Insulation questions, answered by experts

If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.

Each of the three types of wool insulation has particular disadvantages. While their R-value is higher, they all cost more than fiberglass versions. Installing mineral wool and sheep wool requires protective gear. Because of its vulnerability to insects, chemicals are used in its production. Hemp wool is more costly to install than other types because additional tools and labor are involved.

If the outside temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it will take around six hours for your pipes to freeze—and they might even burst. That’s why keeping your mobile home’s temperature around 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary, even if you’re leaving it vacant for the winter. In addition, having ample skirting around the mobile home's underbelly will help keep pipes insulated during the winter.

It's essential to use insulation materials specifically designed for air ducts. Common types of duct insulation materials include fiberglass, foam board, and reflective foil. These insulation materials have the right properties to withstand the temperature and airflow conditions within the ductwork. Using the appropriate insulation not only ensures efficient temperature control but also prevents potential safety hazards or the release of harmful particles into the air.

Yes, an automatic pool cover retains heat. It can act as a thermal blanket because the heavy vinyl traps heat underneath, keeping the water warmer than if there wasn’t a cover. Keeping the pool cover closed when the pool’s not in use can also help reduce water utilities and save on pool chemical costs because there won’t be as much evaporation.
