"Our project to insulate our home turned out to be the best investment and most pleasant home project. It has been 3 months since the project and we have reduced our electric bill more than 50%. Jesse with Weatherization Experts explained insulation, the project and gave us a quote. He made sure the project went perfectly and the crew was amazing. They did a great job but were very kind, respectful and paid attention to keep the property clean and not track anything through the house. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this company. They are top notch and we will be contacting them in the future for all of our home weatherization needs."

"I am extremely pleased with MILEX (MILO insulation). Work was done June 7 & 8, 2021. I have noticed a significant improvement in my home. Very professional, on time, worked nonstop except for a lunch break the first day (removing all old insulation- it was a MESS!). Worked nonstop the 2nd day - blowing in the insulation. I donâ  t hesitate to recommend to anyone and everyone"

"Probably the best A/C service I've had here in Oklahoma. The Tri-City technician was very knowledgeable, professional, and throughly provided inspection and maintenance for my two home A/C's. The price was very reasonable. Will definitely use Tri-City again."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

An insulated garage door is a great long-term investment if it’s within your budget. They save energy and give the door year-round usability. In other words, the door pays for itself after a few nasty winters. Most modern garage doors already have a fair amount of insulation, so look into those options if you don’t feel comfortable splurging.

A dehumidifier can reduce condensation on your ductwork by lowering humidity levels in the air. Condensation occurs when humid, warm air makes contact with cold ducts. A dehumidifier can help maintain your home's indoor humidity below or around 50%, minimizing moisture buildup. However, if condensation is caused by leaks, cracks, or other damage, a dehumidifier won’t solve the problem.

Structural insulated panels and rigid foam boards have the highest R-value of any insulation that contractors commonly use, with R-values reaching up to around 8.0. These types of insulation are best in extremely cold climates, but they’re generally preferred for new construction, as they can be challenging to retrofit. Blown-in and loose fill insulation provide the next best insulative value, provided the installation is done properly. It’s important to choose an insulation type that meets your needs based on climate, as maximizing R-value may not always be financially worthwhile if you live in a moderate climate.

The most affordable way to insulate behind unfinished walls is to install fiberglass batts or rolls. These total around $0.75 per linear foot, with the width matching the gaps between standard studs perfectly. However, it’s important to consider the R-value of your insulation and the climate in your area, as fiberglass insulation isn’t the best in terms of preventing heat transfer. Plus, the most affordable option may cost more on electricity bills over time. The most affordable way to insulate behind finished walls is to leave them up and use blown-in insulation to avoid drywall replacement.

Through R-value assessments based on climate and existing insulation.
