"Dustin & his crew were fantastic & very professional. Dustin’s input into our projects design & final product was an extremely vital component. Our project involved a complete gut & redesign of our kitchen , as well as redoing our family room & master bath shower. The final project exceeded our expectations & finished on time and on budget. "Kevin gives competitive bids; he does all the work himself without subcontractors which keeps the labor costs down. He is skilled at helping you select flooring, tile, light fixtures, and paint colors. He is a good idea guy, and can suggest multiple ways to solve your problem. He is honest and hardworking. His handyman skills are excellent...he can do anything."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

An architect is usually involved in the process of determining the layout and structural features and requirements of the home itself, taking into account the local codes, climate, and materials needed to make the home structurally sound. Architects may communicate more with contractors and subcontractors throughout the building process. In comparison to architects, interior designers typically focus on the aesthetics of a home interior and possibly exterior, helping the homeowner decide on color schemes, textures, and materials to incorporate into the design.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Hiring a professional to do a loft conversion will certainly speed up the process. The construction steps required to change the slope of the roof can be quite difficult to do as a DIY job. Should the project run into any snags, like rot in the joists, frayed wiring, or roof leaks, hiring a local home remodeling professional makes it far easier to handle these issues safely.

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.
