You shouldn’t leave drywall outside overnight, especially if you live in a wet or humid climate. The moisture from humidity, rain, or other elements can damage the drywall, making it weaker and susceptible to mold growth. Stash any extra drywall in a dry area away from the elements to protect it from moisture.

Many ceiling ideas can serve as alternatives to installing a drop ceiling. Rooms suited to drop ceilings can also accommodate a painted drywall ceiling, taking on any color you want. If you don’t have studs in the area where you want to install your TV mount, you may still be able to install a TV mount on drywall. Smoothing textured walls requires a lot of sandpaper and elbow grease and can take longer than just outright removing the texture.

It’s a pretty good idea to have drywall corners, also called drywall beading. Drywall is a pretty brittle material and corners tend to be rubbed up against it often. Rather quickly, the edges will start crumbling and you’ll need to replace the entire panel, or add beads on top and repaint the wall. Drywall beads—which are inexpensive—provide long-term support for the drywall and protect your investment.
