"I am very happy with the work performed at my home to correct & address drainage issues around the foundation completed in March 2025 by Blue Collar Drainage Solutions & the owner Richard Van Vorst. A three day rainy period after project completion great results in drainage. Communication was clear and project/work content well described. In addition, his workers sons Justin and Haskell, were knowledgeable, communicative and respectful throughout the project. At the end of each work day, they were careful to remove any debris, and clean up at days end. I would recommend Blue Collar Drainage Solutions."

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can replace a cinder block foundation. If a block foundation is too severely damaged to repair cracks and other issues, replacing the entire foundation is a viable option. The job will require a professional and can take between one to seven days on average to complete, depending on how complex the problem is.

Foundation problems are costly to repair, but if you already own the home, you can either handle the issues or allow the property to (literally) sink into disrepair. The opposite is true when buying a home. Walk away if the seller refuses to lower the asking price once foundation issues are exposed or if they refuse to handle the problems before the completion of the sale.

The best way to determine if ceiling cracks are structural is to hire a ceiling contractor to inspect the cracks and provide a professional opinion. That said, you might be able to make an educated guess based on the size and appearance of the crack. Larger cracks, cracks accompanied by sagging or discoloration, and cracks that travel from the ceiling down the walls are all signs of structural issues.

Yes. A foundation wall can usually be replaced, but you’ll want to call a foundation professional.

It is possible for a slab leak to cause a sinkhole, but it would have to be a particularly serious leak. A slab leak causes the land under your home to erode and if there is enough movement depressions will form in the ground, potentially causing a sinkhole.
