"Found a three-foot-long snake at my front door that then cruised to my back deck. I'm not versed on snake identification and have several pets that go in and out freely. I tried calling the numbers of several snake removal services, but Wildlife x Team OKC was the only company that responded in a timely fashion. They said usually the snake was gone by the time their consultant arrived (two hours later), which was the case, but I still wanted advice for repelling large snakes in the future. The consultant sprayed for wasps and laid out snake repellent."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Hanging wind chimes or motion-activated speakers near your home may be an effective way to deter woodpeckers, as sudden movement and sound often scare birds away. You could also try using reflective decorative items such as pinwheels or mirrors or placing decoys of large predatory birds in your yard. If these measures don’t deter the woodpeckers, you may need the help of a bird removal pro.

Birds are often averse to certain strong scents. For instance, the odor of predator urine, such as that from foxes or hawks, can deter them. Similarly, birds may dislike the pungent aromas of garlic, onions, and chili peppers. Essential oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, and citrus can also be effective in keeping birds away. However, it's important to note that individual bird species might react differently to these scents, so it might require some experimentation to find the most effective repellent for your specific situation.

Woodpeckers peck at the break of dawn and take a break whenever the sun is not shining. On sunny days, expect pecking from dawn to dusk. On cloudy days, expect sporadic pecking when the sun peeks through. These birds are most active in the spring; you’ll hear them drumming as soon as the weather turns warm.

Look for goose repellents that contain the ingredient methyl anthranilate. This is a natural chemical found in grape juice. In human food, it’s often used as grape flavoring. With geese, it’s highly irritating. Grape Kool-Aid contains methyl anthranilate, the active ingredient in most bird repellents. It won’t harm geese, but it will deter them.

Yes, bats can cause quite a bit of damage to the attic. Their weight and movement from flying around can damage insulation, and they can chew through wiring and the walls. As if this isn’t enough, they leave their droppings throughout, which carry harmful bacteria and is dangerous for humans to breathe in, not to mention the extremely foul-smelling odor.
