"Eric was swift to come and get the jobs done when I requested his help. He installed an outlet behind my tv so that I didnâ t have any hanging wires from the tv anymore, and he also fixed a short in my late grandmother in-laws oven so we were able to sell her home faster than expected. We expected a bigger problem and planned to get quotes but he arrived fast and knocked it out of the park at a very reasonable price.. He was very polite and efficient. My family will be using use his work ethics for any other future projects we will need. Thank you again, Eric!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Sometimes, knowing when you need tree-trimming services is straightforward, and other times, you have to do some investigating. Some tell-tale signs that you should have your tree trimmed include:

  • A poorly-formed tree with unruly branches, which makes the tree appear odd-shaped.

  • A tree with tall or large branches that interfere with power lines or your home’s exterior.

  • A tree that provides too much shade in the yard due to branch overgrowth.

Unfortunately, if you cut the top off a palm tree, it will die. Instead of budding or branching out, the top begins to slowly rot. That's why having a professional tree trimming at least twice a year is a good idea. If you don’t have experience with trimming your palm tree, you might accidentally cut the top off, leaving a dead and rotting tree in your wake.

If a tree isn’t pruned, it can inhibit proper growth and fruit production, cause damage to both the tree and your property, and create entry points for pests and diseases. Pruning a tree enhances its stability, appearance, shape, and growth. Pruning trees regularly can also save you money long-term by avoiding overgrown or dangerous dying trees.

Removing tree stumps is a dangerous and complex job that requires a high level of expertise. Many landscapers specialize in general lawn care and maintenance. But, some may have the proper licensing and qualifications needed to safely remove tree stumps. In most cases, though, landscapers will refer you to a local tree removal or stump grinding company.

Generally, homeowners do not need permission to cut down a tree on their own private property, but there are several exceptions where a permit may be required. You might need a permit if the tree is particularly large, old, or a protected species, such as a heritage tree. Trees located near public property or power lines can also be subject to special rules. Additionally, many local governments and homeowners associations (HOAs) have regulations controlling which trees can be removed to manage an area's appearance or prevent the spread of invasive species. To avoid hefty fines, it is crucial to check with your local government and HOA to determine if a permit is needed before you begin.
