"I thoroughly enjoyed having Takedown Tree Service respond to my service request. I needed to modify the time my service needed to be done and Takedown was able to make adjustmennta to my schedule. Then, when an Emergency (for them) came up, I was notified promptly of the delay. Upon their arrival, we discussed what I wanted done, so they were very considerate of my opinion and needs. The work was performed quickly and the residual limbs were neatly stacked so that I could arrange disposal. Takedown Tree Service will be my first chioce for any future tree services."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

On average, tree removal costs around $750, with a typical range between $200 and $2,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the tree's height, trunk diameter, species, and overall health. Accessibility is also a key factor; costs will be higher if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or located near structures like power lines or your home. Additional costs may apply for services such as stump removal (which can add $100 to $150), log-splitting, debris cleanup, and obtaining necessary permits. It is also customary to tip the professional, usually between $20 and $100.

Tree removal costs typically don’t include stump removal, as that technically falls into a different service. The company you hire may offer the service for an additional fee; ask them if they offer it to ensure you get the best tree stump removal costs possible.

Yes, many services include stump grinding to eliminate tripping hazards and improve aesthetics.

No, you should never top maple trees. Topping injures the tree and leads to the rapid growth of a weak canopy, which can be hazardous to rooftops and utility lines. Removing the crown can also leave the interior bark vulnerable to sun damage, leading to insects and disease. A topped tree can also reduce property value and permanently damage the appearance of a tree.

The depth of tree roots depends on the species. Trees like oaks and maples can have root systems that grow down 20 feet or more. However, trees that grow in shallow soils will have roots that go only a few feet down. Research how your tree species grows in your climate area to estimate root depth.
