"They arrived on schedule and began work immediately.  They were able to quickly trim the elm tree to our satisfaction.  The willow tree took a little more time due to the proximity of the homes and multiple dead limbs at the top of the tree.  I was pleased with their work, and will definitely use them again.  They are very professional, and know their business well.

"AMAZING experience. I would definitely recommend Sawdust Tree Expert. I had a fairly large tree that needed to be removed, they gave me a very fair quote, and did an amazing job. No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines. 

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.

If a disease has attacked and destroyed the roots, then the tree may fall over as soon as it has died or while part of it is still alive. Trees that die with their roots left in place tend to stay standing for much longer, but those roots will decay eventually, allowing gravity to do the rest.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

Usually, trees cannot grow back after their stump has been ground, but some very hearty types of trees can. For example, if you have a black locust or Redford pear, the grinding will need to go deep to prevent them from growing back. Ask your tree service or stump removal expert whether your tree can resprout after its stump is ground down.
