"This is the 4th project we’ve used Exotic Tile for. They are professional, communicate well, show up and complete jobs on time. They’ve done two fireplaces, a bathroom floor and now a backsplash for us. All look perfect. We won’t go anywhere else for tile. I highly recommend at least having them get you an estimate if you’re looking to have tile work done!"

"Mr. Doug of Perrell Flooring Installation performed the work. What I valued most is the fact I was able to get an estimate with in a day of calling, he showed up on time to start work and was able to start right away and complete the job in 2 days. When an unforeseen issue came up with one of the cut off valves he was able to handle."

We pride ourselves on our clear and concise communication. We want to ensure we provide you a quick, quality service on time and on budget. \n \nWe joined this business because we were tired of calling ten contractors to only get two to come out and bid. Then having to wait another 2-3 weeks to even get the bid before even scheduling service. Waiting around for weeks then just to have the project delayed and go way over the estimates didn’t feel right. \n \nWe are provide our clients the pricing quickly and transparently either on our website or right on a 15min consultation video call. We do everything to plan for issues that could arise on a job before they happen and, we inform our customers before the job begins if any changes would be expected. \n \nOur technicians have years of experience in the industry and pride themselves on quality and attention to detail. If you’d like professional service, easy communication & quoting, and a finished product you can be proud of, call us now!

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Here’s another instance of where the answer is you could, but that doesn’t mean you should. Yes, part of the issue is getting the drywall to stay in place on the tiles, and it’s understandable that screws will crack the tiles and cause them to crumble. That’s why it’s a much better idea to screw drywall into studs, not your porcelain or ceramic tile. But aside from issues with attaching the drywall, it’s also about ensuring a smooth application without trapping moisture inside.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

It’s best to start with tiling the shower floor before moving on to the walls for the most visually-pleasing results. When taking on any tiling project, you’ll want the wall tiles to “sit” neatly on the floor tiles rather than overlapping them. Finishing your floor tiles first will allow you to place your wall tiles without any gaps, holes, or awkward intersections.

Yes, you can use paint if you want to refresh your tile countertops. However, you must be mindful of the type of paint you use. Look for options explicitly created for tile that are also waterproof and durable. Over time, the paint will chip, so this is not considered a long-term solution for busy kitchens.

Porcelain tiles can last 60 years or longer. With high-quality tiles and proper installation, your porcelain tiles may even outlive you, making them well worth the initial investment.

To help your porcelain tiles last longer, you should clean and maintain them regularly. You don’t need any harsh chemicals to get the job done. Rather, use a cloth, hot water, and mild detergent. And don’t forget to learn how to clean floor tile grout, as that’s just as important as tile maintenance.
