Dan did an OUTSTANDING job with our kitchen remodel! We could not be happier with how things turned out. No only is he an excellent craftsman, he is even a better person. If you need any remodeling work done, he is the person to call.

I have used Dan in the past and have been very satisfied in general except he didn’t finish one step in my kitchen remodel that he said he’d come back and complete but never did. Most recently over the last two weeks I tried to contact him for some additional work via phone (left message) and text but did not get any kind of response until my third attempt at 8AM via phone only to find out that he’s too busy for one of the jobs I needed to have done and on the other project he doesn’t do windows when he has done windows and sliding glass doors for me in the past. Now he says he doesn’t do windows even though he specifically told me “don’t go to the big guys like Pella or Anderson, come to me.” That’s what I was trying to do. Guess he no longer wants my business. Very disappointed now.

Dan, PJ (and team) did a fabulous job! We collaborated up front and came up with a masterful plan to update the master bathroom. Job entailed removing window, relocating tub, relocating pocket door, shower, toilet, tile, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. A complete overhaul delivering form and function perfection. All work was completed in a timely manner, with great care. Dan has an eye for detail and takes pride in his work. He delivers precisely what his customer asks for. When all is said and done, the difference is in the detail and the people and Johnson Home Improvement delivers on both!

We are repeat customers of Dan Johnson after completing a wonderful Bathroom remodel several years ago. Dan and his assistant, PJ, did not disappoint with our Kitchen Remodel. Our plans included rip out an existing wall and build new replacement wall to our spec. Ripped out existing cabinetry and disposed of debris. Stripped existing drywall for electrical work. Drywall installed prior to Kraftmaid Cabinets and appliances installed. Tile backsplash expertly installed. Johnson Home Improvements did all plumbing, including trenching our concrete slab floor to install a water line to the refrigerator ice maker. Provided new exhaust for Over Range Microwave. All trim and painting was completed without any flaws. Thanks Dan and PJ!

I hired Johnson Home Improvement to install and grout a porcelain tile floor and backsplash in my kitchen. What a mistake! The floor is not flat. When I asked Mr. Johnson if the uneven tiles could be reset, he explained that they could not because resetting one tile would affect each successive tile. When I showed my disappointment, he asked me, “How do you expect me to fix this”? Mr. Johnson stated that I purchased unstraight, made in China tiles that weren’t the greatest. Although untrue, if Mr. Johnson had concerns about the quality of the tile, why didn’t he raise this issue with me? This was unscrupulous on his part. It is more likely that the floor is not flat because he did not use the leveling system wedges in over 90% of the tiles to keep the tiles even. In addition, Mr. Johnson did not grout underneath my appliances. He also did not install the HardiBacker board per manufacturer’s specifications; therefore, voided my warranty on the product. Mr. Johnson installed this floor his way and admitted that he did so regardless of warranties. Be aware! The backsplash was not grouted even though it was part of the contract. Mr. Johnson ran out of grout after telling me on day one that I purchased enough. As experienced by other reviewers, he then increased his quoted price because he would have to return to finish the job. As if that’s MY fault? Unfortunately, we ended up in small claims court. To cut to the chase, Mr. Johnson showed up with two attorneys. They wanted an expert witness. I had compelling photographs showing how badly my floor was installed as well as the unfinished grouting, so I decided not to pay the exorbitant price of an expert witness. That decision cost me in the end. I was awarded no damages towards the cost of the tile and grout, plus the cost for another contractor to tear up this mess of a floor. This was a complete kitchen tear up and redo. It involved cabinet makers and installers, countertop fabricators and installers, drywall installers, electricians, and plumbers. All their work was done with care and knowledge. They were all pleasant and easy to work with. The final step was my floor. Mr. Johnson’s shoddy work and lack of customer service skills put a huge damper and financial setback on an otherwise successful renovation.

We had our old master bathroom and shower remodeled. Dan was very very punctual, very accurate with amount of time he said it would take to complete. Dan did everything including painting. The results exceeded our expectations. We now have a beautiful new bathroom.

We hired Dan Johnson for our remodel of our only full bathroom. It was a complete gut of an 8x8 space. We were amazed with how quickly and efficiently Dan and his assistant PJ worked. It took 7 days from start to finish (I don't even think these guys stopped to eat) which we really appreciated, seeing is our only full bath. Even though they worked quickly, they didn't cut any corners. The job was impeccable. Work on tile and paint beautifully done. They installed a 48"vanity, toilet, and bathtub and shower fixtures. After the gut, Dan notified us that we would need a new subfloor due to damage that was not repairable. We were made aware of that minor snafu and the additional cost involved. No biggie. The final results are stunning. If there's a way for me to attach pictures, I will so you can see for yourself. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. They were worth every penny.

Dan and PJ were amazing to work with. No hidden costs and the project came in right around the estimate. We have received multiple compliments on how great and upscaled the newly remodeled bathrooms look. I highly recommend Johnson Home Improvements and I look forward to using them again for our future projects.

The renovation of our primary bathroom by Johnson Home Improvement went really well. The tear-out took less than a day and the entire bath took an additional 8 days. We selected all materials: shower and floor tiles, double sink vanity, toilet, accessories, trim and paint. Dan and his crew provided all the construction materials. The quote and the final price after we decided on a few changes / add-ons were very fair. Hard work produced great results. It’s truly beautiful. I highly recommend to all homeowners capable of choosing the materials for the job.

It went wonderfully. Dan came in looked at what needed to be done. Gave me a start date and a finish date. And a cost. He began on the date he said and the job was finished on the date he told me it would be. He and his helper were pleasant and the entire process was exciting as I got to see the progress. I would hire him again in a minute!

Dan and his assistant, PJ, did an incredible job with our master bath remodel. Two months later and we still comment on how much we enjoy and appreciate the work they did. This was a full gut and installation of new walls, cabinets, plumbing, lighting, heated floor and tile.

Dan and PJ did an excellent job. They did a repair in our living room and major updates to our bathrooms, kitchen, mudroom and laundry room. We were very happy with their work and found them professional and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Johnson Home Improvement.

Dan kept us informed of when he would be able to start. Completed project in a timely fashion (within 2 weeks) and no surprise price deviations from quote. Dan and his helper remodeled an approximate 10 ft x 10 ft bathroom. Project involved partial removal of drywall and sub-floor to increase shower size. Tile and flooring looks great. Dan and his crew also installed new bath fans (one in remodeled bath and another in adjacent bathroom), lighting, and barn doors to bathroom and adjacent walk in closet. We discovered one minor issue when the work was complete and Dan addressed it the very next day. Dan and his team showed up on time and left the work site clean everyday. Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of the work. Cost of service was cost for labor and construction materials. All aesthetic materials (tile, flooring, vanity, faucets, lighting/fan, cabinet, mirror, shower doors, barn doors and hardware) are in addition to cost of service.

Unbelievable! What a great job Dan and his company did. Just wonderful! I owned a small business for 40 years and my number one requirement when I hired someone was to hire a person who cares. Dan Cares. From the smallest detail to the largest, he would make sure it was right. His communication skills regarding the planning, the progress, his suggestions to make the project better, and just his overall friendliness was second to none. In addition, he and PJ work so hard and so fast but never take shortcuts. If you want to hire a great guy who does quality work, Dan is your guy.

Dan did a fine job. He was attentive to specifics and offered options when questions arose. He completed the job very quickly.

Dan Johnson was great to work with. He came out gave me a quote of the remodel of our bathroom, gave me a very reasonable price, told me when he was going to arrive, finished my bathroom in the time he told me he would and cleaned up after himself daily. I would highly recommend him and have to many friends.

It didn't! I requested a quote via Angie's List on April 7, today is April 25. I still have not received any communication from them at all. Seems to be an epidemic amongst handymen from my experience AND from reading the reviews. The guy that advertises "I return calls" is going to be the first that I consider every time!!

I have had mixed experiences with this contractor. About a year ago I attempted to contact him to request information on projects I wanted to complete. I e-mailed him several times (his stated communication preference) and never heard anything back from him. Six months later, based on his Angie's List reviews, I e-mailed him again to ask about hourly rates. I received written information from him that allowed me to accurately calculate his hourly rate. So recently when I contracted for work with him, I made a HUGE mistake and accepted a lump sum price for the work with no further breakdown, wrongfully assuming that the hourly rate was the same as he had previously quoted in writing a few months earlier. Based on the actual hours he and his assistant spent at my house working, travel time and time he spent going to Home Depot for parts, the actual hourly rate he charged me was almost TWICE what he had previously quoted in writing. My mistake; lesson learned. In my opinion, I also made the mistake of telling him I needed the work done within a week. Some advice for others. NEVER tell this to a contractor. LOL Please note. All of the work he performed was handyman work that was not complicated and did not require highly technical skills. He was prompt arriving on the work day and did a good job. He occasionally appeared to be in a hurry and this concerned me because some of the work was plumbing. He left before the work was completed. His assistant completed the work. Clean-up was decent. This contractor has received multiple Angie's List awards. Since the time he completed the work for me I have hired other handymen at half the rate that he charges and they also did a great job, were prompt, and cleaned everything when they finished.

This company is wonderful. The replied promptly, gave me a complete estimate and showed up for work as planned. They did a great job and were friendly and professional. I already have plans to use them again.

Very quick response for quote. Had an opening between jobs and scheduled. Had a complete demolition of bathroom. Bathtub and walls to the studs. Had water damage wall studs replaced/reinforced. Drain that was completely damaged replaced after a section of slab removed to good sewer line. Raised Tub area soffit to match existing ceiling contour. Poured concrete shower pan and curb for walk-in shower. Removed old wall tile from entire bathroom and existing wallpaper. Installed wainscoting for entire room and refurbished walls to paint. Installed new double vanity, shower doors, toilet and towel accessories. Installed bathroom fan with new roof vent. Beautiful job on shower tile, shower pan and travertine tile floor. Great attention to detail. PJ and Dan are on my list for Highly Recommended. Attached before and after pictures.
