Don helped in a local plant business when he was 12 years old and became interested in growing plants as a hobby later in life. That grew into a business in 1973. The first plants were grown in cold frames. A small potting shed with a small attached fiberglass building was added, then greenhouses began to be erected as the business grew. Today there are eight greenhouses and a 26' x 40' building that is used for sales and storage.
