"Very shady experience. He came out to give me a quote for lawn aeration and after looking at the yard and told me "I'll do it for $100". This quote was less than the 2 other companies that gave me a quote so i told him to come out next week to do the job. The 2 other companies quoted me $120 and $180. After finishing the job today, he told me i owed him $400. He tried to tell me I misunderstood him with his accent. I guarantee he has tried this before with people and blaming it on his accent. fortunately, I had the quotes handy from the other companies and told him there was no way i would pay $400 when other companies quoted me $120 and $180. We ended up settling on $150 but the entire experience was very very shady. I will never use him again and would highly suggest a written quote if you decide to enter into an agreement with him. "

My Handyman was referred to me by a colleague and I couldn't have been more delighted! Not only is Trent extremely organized and efficient with his projects but as fast as they moved they never once cut corners! All of the crew was wonderful and very good at what they do. "I made the absolute right decision going with Yard Right [Y.R.]! Mark and his son Matt were great! Mark & crew showed up on the appointed day, even though a crew member quit that same morning, worked all day, and was consistent regarding this work ethic for the duration of the project. Initially Mark estimated that the job would take 4 days, but because he had one less employee, for the first few days, the project took almost 7days. While Y.R. did manage to get additional help for two days, even short handed they never miss a beat. Along the way, I decided that I wanted stepping stones from the walking paths to the backyard, wood timber to trim around the back shed fencing, moving several boulders to accent the new pathways, etc.. Although the extra items pushed the final cost over my initial budget, it was well worth it. For the services rendered, it was great value for the money! I really appreciated that Mark did the work himself. Several owners indicated they’d send their workers and would come out to oversee the work, which I wasn’t comfortable with. But Mark was here each and every day and was fully engaged in the work, from the first shovel to the last brick. And talk about keeping his composure under pressure—having to deal with my ideas and changes, or watching my pup eat part of a crew member’s lunch, or mashing his finger when we were hunting for stepping stones—whatever it was, Mark kept going with a smile and good spirit. On the last day, he even picked up cinder blocks for me for another project only to find that they were the wrong blocks and then had to drive back across town to return them. This guy is as good as gold!! My next door neighbor who does his own brick work commented on what a great job Mark had done, as has several of my other neighbors. I’m very happy with the work that was done. I would definitely hire Yard Right Landscaping LLC again for landscaping work."

"It is with a very heavy heart that I share this as I have shopped at Oakland Nursery for over 10 years and used various services including over $20K of work. Last year, I hired them for irrigation and sprinklers. The manager of irrigation left last fall for Colorado in the middle of my job. He had hired a sub to do it and I have had so many problems: left holes for kids to trip in, pummeled my fence, flooded my basement, planting grass in the wrong place, left a swamp. Although that sub is no longer there, they never hired another head of irrigation. They just used a guy that used to work for the previous head of irrigation (John). In order to solve the swamp issue, he sent a guy that wasn't a landscaper to dig up my sod and put dirt underneath. The previous head had recommended this in April but it wasn't done until months later, when the sun was too hot. It was a disaster and left a hazard as the grass was dying and pulling apart leaving large crevices. My daughter and I both twisted our ankles trying to get to the other side of the yard to water the veggies. They came and put hazard tape all around, ran my sprinklers around the clock and said no one could step on it for 4-6 weeks. I was left with almost half of my backyard that was unusable for a family reunion and two birthday parties. This was very costly to my family in the midst of COVID as we were planning to have these parties in the back yard. (They had also done 10K of work before this to plant a beautiful flower bed at the back of my yard that could no longer be seen because of the bright yellow hazard tape and tall weeds. They told me it couldn't even be mowed. I would have never consented to this if they told me it couldn't be walked on or mowed. When it was mowed 7 weeks later, there were holes, dead grass and a lot of bumps. They still haven't fixed this or even sent a boss to look at it. They send me bills with finance charges even though I paid before it was done. I already paid them $4100 for this service and they are charing me over $2K more b/c the head of irrigation did not put in writing what was a verbal agreement. There is no signed contract. I understand this is my fault but I trusted Oakland Nursery and John, the previous head of irrigation. This has been the worst professional experience of my life. I will no longer be using them and am hiring another company to fix it. I also have a lawyer who will now be communicating with them. My next email is to the Better Business bureau. I have never sued another company in my life, but sadly this is my next step if they continue to send me bills and don't correct the problems."

"Terrible. Tree needs to be replaced, since they didn't dig the tree into the ground. Instead, they threw soil over it and hoped it would grow. The root ball was showing and continues to show (thus tree needs to be replaced) Retaining wall they build also collapsed and fell over. Terrible company, terrible service, and waste of money. Please avoid them whatever you do...… You'll be glad you did!!"
