"Horrible horrible experience was lied to constantly didn’t do half of the work. I was told they would do. Cleanup is horrible. About more than half. The house didn’t get a system on the outside. Sump pump was put in the wrong side of the house that we agreed upon they are in no rush to help you. They only work on their time. Told me it was an inconvenience how far away I live after they took the job. I would highly highly recommend to never use Everdry and it was outrageously expensive."

Everdry Waterproofing of Cincinnati has more than 40 years of experience. We are a full service basement waterproofing and foundation repair company. Our unique, safe and 100% effective waterproofing method has been endorsed by authorities across the nation. We were awarded U.S. Patent No. 6,904,723B1. We are approved for work by the Department of Housing Authority (F.H.A) and a number of city and state government agencies. Our most important credentials are referrals from thousands of satisfied customers who have helped to make us the #1 choice in basement waterproofing and foundation repair.

"Everdry came to my home for a consultation, where we discovered a mold issue. We were informed that they would eradicate it, fix the leakage issue, and waterproof the basement. Upon learning this, we accepted their bid on July 28th. We were originally looking at starting the process in October, but they persuaded us to start on September 17th and offered us a lower price to start the process earlier. I felt like they were being pushy, and I was not prepared for them to start that soon. On the day they showed up, I was going to take some time to clear the area myself, but they were being aggressive and told me that they didn't have time for that. I received a call from Cierra asking if her team had started the project or if I had met Malachi (the supervisor). I had not, but they did start the project. Malachi was supposed to walk me through the process, but he never introduced himself to me. On day two, my home health aid witnessed the workers smoking weed on my property. They also destroyed my lawn and did not dispose of their waste. They didn't let me know that they were leaving for the day or anything. On day three, they claimed that they were wrapping up the project. I finally met Malachi, but he still did not formally walk me through the process. He didn't explain anything to me, but he demanded that I sign their paperwork. I refused because I was not satisfied with the job that was done. I asked to speak to his superiors, and he verbally accosted me. When I checked the work myself, I noticed that the leakage issue was not resolved. I spoke to Ted from Everdry, and he admitted that the work they did was subpar. The following day, I spoke with Ted's superiors, and he also sided with me, but they did not offer a reasonable solution. I felt like I was being discriminated against because of my neighborhood. I also feel like they violated me and my property."

We specialize in everything concrete. Need that drive way fixed or extended? Sidewalk crumbling? Does the Mrs. want a beautiful stamped patio to entertain guest in the backyard? We have over 30 years experience in the industry and we are fully insured. Call us to schedule your free estimate.

"I contacted Angi's at the end of July or beginning of August for a referral for a contractor who could repair the cracks in our driveway. We received 2 calls, 1 from Hastings and Sons and 1 from another contractor. Jason Hastings came to do an estimate on 08/05/2025. He was an hour early with no call. He was very nice and personable. We discussed fixing the cracks, but then he told me we really needed a new driveway and that our porch (it's not really a porch as there is no overhang) needed replacing as well. I told him we tried to do that a few years before, but the deal fell through. We discussed what I wanted to do, which was to change the porch, walkway, and flower bed into one patio with a step up from the driveway and no step into the house. He agreed with that idea and said he would price the driveway by itself as well as the driveway and patio together. We discussed the need for permits, 1 for the bottom of the driveway and 1 for the patio. We also discussed if they would be able to level the driveway better than it was due to the fact that cars that sit low got scraped when the came up the driveway. He said they couldn't promise to fix that issue, but they would do everything they could to fix that. He gave me an estimate of $9970. I told him I would speak to my husband and let him know. He wanted an answer immediately. I told him I had another estimate scheduled for that day and would need to speak with my husband. He told me the price was only good until the end of the day. The 2nd estimate came in at $14,000.00 for both the patio and the driveway. My husband and I talked about both estimates and decided to go with Hastings and Sons. I called Jason and told him our decision. He sent over the contract via email and I signed it. He said they could probably start that week. I told him we needed to get the money together, so needed to wait a week to start. He agreed. The next week he called on Tuesday and said some workers would be there that evening to tear out the driveway. He said they would tear out the whole driveway that evening and due the concrete work on Wednesday. I told him we only had half the money as we were waiting on the check from selling some stocks for the 2nd half. He said that wasn't a problem. He trusted me to pay when we had the money. The workers showed up that evening as Jason said they would. My husband happened to be outside when they came. One of the men spoke to my husband briefly without introducing himself or saying he was the owner. He asked my husband what we were doing with the driveway. My husband told him what we wanted with the driveway. Shawn Hastings did not ask my husband about the patio and my husband did not say anything to him about the patio. After about 10 minutes of using equipment to break up the driveway, they left without telling us they were leaving and did not come back. They returned the next morning. Shawn was driving the machine used to break up the driveway, although at that time neither I nor my husband knew who he was. I left for work, as I had told Jason I would be doing, and waved at the workers as I left. No one asked to speak to me. When I got home, shortly after 4:00 p.m., I noted the driveway was almost finished, but they had redone the porch and walkway exactly as it had been before, not what Jason and I had discussed. I spoke to the workers who were working on the porch, and they said "talk to the boss." I asked who the boss was and they pointed to a man sitting in a truck. They called him to come up and I walked toward him to tell him the problem. At that time, I still did not know who he was. I explained the problem, and he immediately blamed me and my husband. I told him that Jason and I had discussed what we were doing with the patio and Jason knew exactly what we wanted. He continued to blame us. He then said that I hafmd just left that morning without speaking to him, again, I had no idea who he was, and that we hadn't even paid him. He then said they would make it right and that we all shared the blame. I denied again that we shared any of the blame. I went into the house and got the check. I then walked down to his truck to give him the check for $5000.00. He said that I didn't need to pay right then. I said I wanted him to take the check. He took the check and then repeated several times "We're all right." I was concerned he was having a heat stroke or something because his behavior and demeanor were off. I went back in the house and called Jason. Jason said he would call Shawn and talk to him. Jason agreed that the patio was supposed to replace the porch, walkway, and flowered and didn't know why they had done it incorrectly. A short time later, Shawn came up to the door and said they would fix the problem. He again blamed my husband and myself. At this point, I had had enough and said, "f*ck off, dude." He became incensed and tok a step towards me. One of his workers grabbed him and said, "no, boss, no." I shut the door. A little bit later, he came back up to the door with the check I had given him. He,said he wasn't going to accept the check because I had cursed t him. He said he would only take cash. I apologized for cursing at him and told him there was nothing wrong with the check and I was not going to go to the bank to get cash. He then said he would uncharted me for the concrete needed for re-doing the patio. I said that wasn't in the contract and I was going to call his brother. He said, "go ahead. I'm the owner, not Jason." I called Jason again. He seemed upset by what Shawn was doing and saying. He said he would call Shawn and call me back. He called me back and said, Shawn was going to go "cool off and get a drink" and he would be back. He said they would take our check and there would be no upcharge. A few hours later, Shawn showed up, somewhat contrite, and spoke to both Joe and I. I explained what we wanted to do with the patio. He said he couldn't do it all the way to the door, that there would have to be a step into the house. Although that's not what we wanted, we agreed. He made a joke about women named Jennifer, as that's my name and his ex-wife's name. He tried to hug me. He and I both apologized. He left saying everything, the rest of the driveway as well as the patio would be finished the next day. The next day, the workers showed up and began work. I don't know if Shawn was there that day or not. My husband was off work that day while I was at work. When I got home, they were finishing up. Everything looked okay to me other than the patio seemed a bit uneven. Shawn stopped by that evening and asked what we thought. I said it looked fine to my untrained eye other than the patio looked uneven. He said it looked fine to him. I said "okay." He then said they workers would be back that evening to clean up and they would get "every rock and piece of trash out of our yard." I asked if they could get rid of the iron railing that had been around our porch as Joe and I had no way to dispose of it. He said they would. I gave him the 2nd check for the remainder of the cost, $4970. The workers did not come back that night. They came back early the next morning while I was getting ready for work. They only took a trash bag that they had left behind the night before. They did not clean up the yard or take the railing. I texted Jason and he sad he didn't think they'd be able to do anything because they were all in Cincinnati. Two of the workers did show up that evening and took the railing. The next day, Friday, I came home to find a notice fom the City of Kettering that I needed to call Chad ASAP about ur recent "concrete work." I called immediately but he wasn't in the office. I called again first thing on Monday and U was told by Chad that Hastings and Sons did not get the needed permit for the driveway permit, and that they had done the apron incorrectly. Chad then told me that all they had to fo was pay $22.00 fir a permit, and Chad would have come to the house and explained how the apron should be done, and then would come out when finished, inspect it, and then sign off. That's all Hastings and Sons were supposed to do. He then told me if Ha"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

It’s called cobblestone because it’s made of stones that are “cobbed” together. A cob is a term that refers to rounded lumps. Originally, cobblestone streets were made from pebbles and stones gathered from riverbeds that had been rounded over time by the passage of water. The term has nothing to do with a cobbler, which is the term for someone who makes and fixes shoes.

Some cracking in bricks is normal, such as when a foundation settles. Keep a watchful eye though, and alarm bells should start ringing if new cracks appear or existing cracks lengthen or widen. Temperature changes, moisture, and structural loading can all contribute to cracks in bricks either starting or getting worse.

Yes, concrete is significantly stronger than masonry, especially if the concrete pour includes reinforcements, like steel rebar. Concrete is a uniform material that can withstand compression, sheer force, and tensile force as long as it’s reinforced. Masonry involves the use of mortar or grout to connect individual building materials, like brick, stone, or tile. Mortar and grout are also reasonably strong and resist compression well, but they don’t come close to the strength of poured concrete.

Fireclay is a type of clay but it is a type of clay that, because of its chemical composition, can be fired at a much higher temperature than other clays. This results in a denser and more heat-resistant final material. Because of the high percentage of a mineral called kaolin, fireclay sinks are smoother and more durable than other clay types.

Unless you’ve worked in the masonry industry before, it is in your best interest if you hire a pro for any masonry needs. Masonry-related jobs require a high skill level and can be extremely time-consuming. If anything goes wrong, a licensed and insured masonry contractor would be able to take care of the subsequent repairs, giving you additional peace of mind.
