"Mike and his crew were fantastic. Mike explained exactly how they would install the outlets for my new bidets, how long the installation would take and his price was very reasonable. We were especially happy that we only needed one contractor to handle the job since bidet installation requires an electrician and a plumber. When Don and Bob arrived for the job, they were very professional, very personable and cleaned up after the job! Knowing how hard it is to find experienced professionals, we were very pleased with the service and plan to use United Plumbing and Electric in the future."

"I had a new kitchen sink and faucet to have installed. I got prompt call from him literally less than a minute after submitting a quote request online on Angies's List on a Saturday morning. He was able to come out the next morning on a Sunday. At first he wasn't able to do install because the sink I had selected wouldn't work with my space. It was nice that he didn't charge me for coming out for nothing. I purchased a different sink and he was able to come back a week later to get the job done. He ended up having to do more than expected due to the nature of how previous installer did sink, but he worked through it and did a great job. Price was very reasonable and he is very courteous and professional. Would do business with him again."

"I called 9 plumbers who were either too busy or non responsive and then I found Archer Plumbing. They've been outstanding since day one. Came out within a few days of my first call. They've now been out multiple times to work on my property (each fix becomes more complicated as we uncover bad repair jobs). I've met 4 different guys, each of whom is clearly a professional. My tenants are comfortable with them. Alan and Jim have been life-savers. I wish the price was lower but that's what good plumbing costs."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Most faucets come with a rubber or plastic gasket that prevents leaks—but that’s not always the case. If your faucet doesn’t come with a gasket or it’s leaking, use a caulk gun to seal the gaps and prevent water damage.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

Kitchen plumbing repairs range from simple to complex, with the costs reflecting that variety. Some repairs require a new part, while others call for replacing an entire appliance. For example, some of the most common kitchen plumbing repairs include:

  • Dishwasher: $75–$600

  • Garbage disposal: $75–$400

  • Ice maker water line: $100–$200

  • Kitchen sink clog: $100–$400

  • P-trap repair: $200–$325

Basic replacements can be done DIY, but professional services ensure proper sealing, leak prevention, and plumbing adjustments.

The best material to use will depend on your budget and style goals. Fireclay is a great choice but is expensive and heavy. Stainless steel is less expensive and more durable, but lacks the wow factor a clay sink might. Copper is very expensive but lasts a long time and has a striking appearance. Those looking for an industrial look can go with concrete, or those looking for a classic design might choose porcelain.
