"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Gary and his partner, Forest, were very pleasant to work with. Gary is very professional and can do almost any project. I was building a  kitchen in a former dining room in my 1915 house and needed to remove two windows to make room for the new cabinets. Gary and Forest removed the windows, boarded up the openings, replaced the cedar siding outside, and painted the new boards so that you couldn't tell windows had ever been there. Insulation and sheetrock were installed and taped. I did the painting to save money. They arrived when they said they would and Gary always called if there was a delay. They installed new wiring for the refrigerator, stove, microwave, two switches and 5 can lights, plus installed the cans. Adjusted the circuits in the electrical panel to accommodate the new wiring and installed under counter lighting.
In January, 2014, Gary built a beautiful corner window bench with storage for me and installed it in the kitchen, replaced old knob and tube wiring in the upstairs, added an outlet in the bathroom, removed old toilet and vanity, installed new vanity and toilet, and installed light fixture.
I consider Gary the very finest contractor I could have found. He listens to my suggestions, is very amenable to any changes, patiently answers my questions, and makes suggestions if he thinks something may not be feasible or cost effective. I already have a list of future projects waiting for Gary to handle. Anyone hiring him will be very pleased with the whole experience and his costs are very reasonable.

"We had a wonderful experience working with Darrin/Xclsuive Home. Darrin was very knowledgeable about multiple aspects of home repair, and it was very convenient to work with a single company that could provide quality repair in several areas that we needed for our home: siding repair, roofing repair, repair to an external door, wooden deck repair, and concrete repair. Darrin responded quickly to our request for an estimate and finished our projects quickly. We would be happy to work with him again!"

"Brad was fantastic! I had previously had another contractor come in and estimate about 1000 in repairs. Brad indicated this was definitely not the case. He provided an estimate and then beat it by $100. He was knowledgeable, on time and friendly. Estimate was provided and he came back and finished everything in less than 3 hours. Great guy! Great service! And I will be using him again.

"Loay Jabbar provided the information I needed quickly and clearly. I immediately signed up for full coverages for our two homes because of the discounts offered and because of the quality of service that Loay is saying and promising Choice Home Warranty provides to its customers. I have bad experiences with other home warranty companies so I am hoping I found the best company that would deliver the best service."

"We live in a 65 year old home that has plaster walls in need of major repair.  We contacted Rich Farley & scheduled for him to come to our home to give us an estimate.  He was there within two days & arrived at the time he said he would arrive.  He said he could return with his crew within a few days to begin the repair work on the plaster.  Again, they showed up promptly at the scheduled time, repaired the walls, & left no mess behind.  We scheduled them to come back one week later (at our request) to texture the walls which they did.  I cannot stress enough how pleased my husband & I were with their work.  They were punctual, honest & fair with the price, friendly, & most importantly, Rich & his crew were meticulous with their work.  We have recommended them to several friends & family members who have also utilized their services, were very pleased, & plan to use them again as well.  We plan to have them back to repair & texture the walls in several other rooms of our home.

"One contractor tried to convince me to replace the entire walkway ( at over the double this price) but I saw no reason for that extensive work to be done. Ron gave me the best bid and explained to me in detail what he would be doing. We agreed on the price and Ron gave me a completion date. We have had a tremendous amount of rain which slowed things down plus the city of Hilliard was being a complete set of jerks on what they were going to require for the replacement and gave Ron quite a runaround. Ron convinced them that what they wanted was not in the scope of the neighborhood and they finally agreed to the replacement request that I had asked Ron to complete. (My advice, warn your contractor in advance of what complete jerks the city of Hilliard is in obtaining permits and be ready to have a hassle).  The work was completed and totally met my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Ron and his company for both their very competitive pricing and excellent quality of work."

"The job(s) went very well and I was kept in the loop the entire time.
Contractor is down to earth, easy to deal with, very accommodating and sensitive to the wishes of the home owner.
Very flexible when it came to rental property occupant availability.
Contractor has the ability to scale the quality of supplies and the detail of work depending on the homeowners desires/needs.
Prices were very competitive with no obvious signs of gouging or cutting corners, I felt as though I received excellent value.
I would use this contractor in all my homes and will not hesitate to call them again.

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

A carriage house is a freestanding building, while a townhouse is connected to other units. A townhouse is a full single-family home and typically shares a parcel of land with other connected homes. A carriage house is rarely used as the sole single-family home on a property and is most often an additional building sharing property with a traditional single-family home.

Renovating or remodeling an existing structure is usually less expensive than the cost to build a new house. That’s because you can save on the costs of new building materials, laying a foundation, framing the entire building, and installing new materials and utilities throughout the house. However, if a home is in very poor condition or is incredibly old, you could spend more on upgrades and restoration compared to building from scratch.

It usually takes around four to six months to build and install a modular home, although your timeline could go up to around eight months if there are delays in the manufacturing or permitting process. Heavy site preparation and foundation pouring can extend that timeline if you need them, as can customizations you want for your modular home. Your modular home company should be able to provide an estimate for the construction timeline before you sign any contracts or agree to any work.

One of the best ways to negotiate with a homebuilder is to forgo price reductions. Instead, negotiate over upgrades and incentives, as many builders are more willing to go down that road than to decrease their own fee. Even if they were willing to take a cut, a reputable homebuilder often knows their worth, so a willingness to negotiate could be a red flag. Beyond that, builders are typically willing to negotiate closing costs instead of offering a discount on the base price.

The early stages of building a house are harder than the later stages; laying the foundation and framing the house are two of the most challenging steps. However, it varies for everyone. Some people have difficulty installing HVAC, plumbing, and electricity, while others find it harder to plan the house and secure the necessary permits.
