So I looked in the yellow pages and picked Plumbing Professors & called the number for Gahanna (614-929-2691), they said they could have a plumber at my house between 12-2PM that afternoon. The plumber & an apprentice arrived around 1PM. I showed them the situation & told them what the leak sounded like. So the turned the main water line on & they found the leak under the sink. They said the leak was in the supply line for the cold water. The plumber went to the truck got a replacement line installed it . Did the paper work & the bill w as Dispatch Fee $59.00 Labor & parts 166.00 ----------------------- Total $225.00 The whole job took 30 Min. The supply line could be purchased for less than $10.00 I paid the bill and they left. Then I got to thinking the Labor & parts seamed to e a lot of money for souch a small job. My main problem is that I am 85 yeas old, Live alone and am not longer able to do work around the house. I purchased one of Angies Big Deals -- 2 hrs of plumbing labor for $99. I had 4 leaking faucets and issues with my gas water tank. Michael McDermott was extremely helpful on the phone when I set up the appointment. He offered to drain my hot water tank at no charge and inspect it. He did that as well as fix all 4 of my leaking faucets within the 2 hours. I expected to owe him for parts for the faucets but when I asked how much I owed him he said 'No Charge' (he was actually here for a bit longer than 2 hours and did not charge me for any extra time)! He gave me a 2 hour window and called me 1/2 hour before he came (within 1/2 hour of window start time). I was extremely pleased with his service and will definitely call him again if I have any plumbing issues! I would highly recommend McDermott Plumbing for service. (A real plus was that he loves dogs! I had my dogs in their kennels and he immediately said it would be fine if they were loose! They loved not having to stay in their kennels for 2 hours!). W & W Plumbing completely saved me. To make a very long story short, we were trying to fix a plumbing problem ourselves (on a Friday at 6pm) and hit a water line. I called everywhere, and the prices were absolutely insane just to fix the pipe damage we caused (not even addressing the problem...

We called in the morning and Dave showed up before noon. He was very quickly done installing a new main shut off valve to replace the broken one. The shut off valves under the sink were also broken, so we asked him if he could also replace those, and since he had the parts needed on the truck...

"Repair man was nice enough, but when he found (eventually) a bad outlet (not a bad disposal after all) under the sink where disposal was powered, the replacement fee was ridiculous. Nonetheless, I had to replace it, or the new disposal wouldn't have been replaced. Kinda felt a little trapped. Ended up paying too much and throw out a perfectly good yet older disposal."

"I couldn’t be more pleased. They offer a service contract that offers 2x annual furnace check and also draining hot water tank. This plan costs same as what I was paying an HVAC company that did not include hot water tank. It also gave me 10% off all the work they did and parts used. More than paid for itself. They also came very soon when hot water tank failed and arrived when they said they would."

You can never foresee when your pipes, sewers, drains or septic tanks will wreak havoc in your otherwise calm lifestyle. That is why it is important to get them regularly cleaned & checked. Since 1988, Wells Septic & Drain Cleaning has been serving the homes and businesses in Central Ohio, including residents of Delaware and Morrow counties with quality plumbing services. We provide thorough, professional plumbing repair, drain cleaning and septic tank service. Additional contact name - Taylor Wells & Rosei Boyce. Additional phone number - (614) 506-6005. Additional email - [email protected].
"Short version: this company is untrustworthy, unorganized, dishonest, negligent, unresponsive, and apathetic to their customers after they've caused damages and a financial loss, even though they are supposedly insured. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I give them 0/5 stars. Long version: I had an appointment with Wells at 10 AM on Monday, January 8th, 2024, to check the back-up battery for our sump-pump; it had been going off, indicating that the battery needed to be replaced. We also had noticed a little water on the floor next to where the sump pump is located. Steve and another plumber arrived over 3 hours late. One of the first things he said to me was that "the front-desk lady likes to schedule a lot of appointments." Steve first told me that the main sump pump needed replaced, so I agreed to this. After a few minutes, he then told me that it didn't need to be replaced after all and that the float had been stuck. He indicated on our appointment notes that the "main pump is operational." He also told me it would be cheaper for us to replace the back-up battery ourselves. Before leaving, he said to let him know if that didn't fix the problem. On Friday, January 12, 2024, we got a lot of rain. I went into my basement and noticed my carpet was soaking wet. I called Wells several times before getting ahold of the owner, Taylor, seeking emergency services because it was after hours. He asked me if I could tell if it was getting worse or not, because it could save me a little money to not pay the weekend rate if I waited for someone to come out on Monday to look at it. I asked that he send someone ASAP. He said he would send his head plumber, Steve, to my house first thing Saturday morning. Steve came to my house Saturday morning and assessed the problem. He replaced the sump pump and said, "I should have replaced it the first time." I fully believe that if he had replaced it the first time, my basement wouldn't have suffered the consequences. I also believe that he was rushing due to being so behind on appointments that day, and he was negligent in his diagnosis. Our carpet was completely ruined. The pad underneath was soaked and not salvageable. Our TV stand and baseboards also had water damage and needed to be replaced. My insurance company estimated the cost of repairs to far exceed what they would pay us. I called Wells and talked to Rosie for 4 minutes on January 16, 2024. After explaining the situation, I asked if I could have Taylor's number because I wanted to discuss a solution. She said she couldn't give his number out, so I asked if she could ask him to give me a call. A few days go by, and I don't hear from Taylor. I called again and talked to her on January 19, 2024, for 4 minutes. I again expressed wanting to be able to come to a solution about the damages we sustained. I never heard from Taylor. I felt like they were avoiding me, so I consulted a lawyer. He said I needed to repair everything before seeking payment from Wells. In the process of making repairs, we had another plumber install an updated sump pump system. He commented on the shoddy work done previously. In August 2024, Rosie called my husband asking him to pay our outstanding bill. He explained we hadn't paid it because of the damages they caused. She claimed it was the first time she was hearing about it, which was 100% untrue given I had talked to her twice about it. At this time, I submitted all of our receipts from our repairs to our lawyer. In the summer of 2025, my lawyer reached out to Taylor seeking payment for our repairs. He claimed this was the first time he was hearing about it. My lawyer offered to help him file a claim through his insurance to pay for the repairs. He was worried about his insurance rates going up if he filed a claim. So much so, that he hired a lawyer. He would rather pay legal fees than take accountability and do the right thing! They were unwilling to compromise, so we're left on the hook and paid over $10k for their mistake. IT SHOULD NOT GIVE YOU PEACE OF MIND THAT THEY (SUPPOSEDLY) HAVE INSURANCE!"

FAQs for plumbing handyman service projects in Milford Center, OH
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Do you have any before and after photos of your work?
How long have you been doing this kind of work?
Do you clean up and dispose of waste when the job is finished?
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need.
