"Greg was very easy to work with and schedule for the sewage line video inspection during my recent home purchase. After inspection found some roots blockage they were also able to clean out the sewage line during the same appointment. I would strongly recommend their services."

"As I requested they provided the cost for drain snaking upfront. A simple procedure that most others would not quote. (They wanted to do a separate "diagnostic" visit and additional fee. The work was fine. The technician very competent and concientious about keeping things clean. The only rub, they wanted $179 to put the toilet back in (way out of line). I think they could have told me. Nevertheless, I drove to home depot for a wax ring and had it done in 10 minutes. Overall, a 4 oout of 5. If they charged a more reasonable rate for reseating the toilet i would have had them do it, and would have rated a 5."

"It's not something you think about when you think about cast iron piping, you think it's practically indestructible; but it's not. When it splits you can hear it. It's like a riffle shot, it is very loud. It was funny. In fact, when I heard it I think I was in bed. I was awake, but I was in bed. This is the second time it's happened. I had another old section that failed some years ago, and I replaced that. I knew what the sound was when I heard that. I had to go find it because the sewer piping in exposed in the basement. It made it relatively easy. In my case, fortunately, the damage was not on the bottom of the pipe where it can cause a mess. It was on the side or the top. It was fairly pricey. Two people came to complete the service. It took three hours, although that might be an exaggeration. I think they left the are clean. When I pointed out the problem area I said that it looked like it was going to be a difficult repair and I suggested that he repair more of the pipe; an additional section of pipe. To make the repair job easier, yeah it's going to cost more, but he concurred that it did make more sense to repair another section of the pipe. Just to make the job easier even though he concurred it would be more expensive doing it that way. I am dealing with a house that is a hundred and thirty some odd years old, so strange things happen."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Snaking a toilet is similar to clearing sinks and bathtubs, but there are unique circumstances where you’d have to drain, disassemble, and remove the toilet to fix the clog. For stubborn clogs in the toilet trap, a toilet auger—designed with a shorter cable and a protective plastic encasing—can navigate the tight bends and clear the clog without risking damage to the porcelain.

Regardless of the drain cleaner type you choose to use, they all work through chemical reactions that create heat. Thanks to the heat, the clogged hair begins to dissolve until it is able to be flushed away. To avoid clogs in your drain due to hair, use hair catchers and empty them out after every shower.

The best drain cleaners are biodegradable ones or a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Strong, caustic chemicals may seem appealing with promises of unclogging your drain quickly, but liquid drain cleaners can cause damage to your pipes over time. Consider making your own drain cleaner with baking soda and vinegar.

Main sewer lines can clog for several reasons. For example, if you regularly dump oil or grease down your drain, it could eventually block your line. Sometimes, tree roots can penetrate and grow inside old sewer pipes, creating a major blockage. Flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, or baby wipes) can also clog your plumbing system.

You could be smelling sewer gas in your kitchen because of a dry P-trap, clogged vent pipe, or leaking plumbing seals. If you smell a rotten egg odor, check your sink’s P-trap and plumbing connections first. A clogged or damaged vent pipe can trap sewer gas and push it back into your kitchen through the plumbing pipes. Loose or deteriorated seals around drainpipes can also allow sewer gas to leak out. If you can’t find the source, call a local plumber for expert help.
