We are a family owned and operated company with experience dating back to 1984! Columbus is our main area, but we offer sales, service, and delivery anywhere in Ohio and the surrounding states. Our service truck is stocked with parts, chemicals, and filters, therefore, we can often times get your spa fixed in one trip.

"Called Buckeye Spa to diagnose and fix a problem with our spa/hot tub. The problem: The low speed setting for the jets worked just fine on filtration mode and upon pressing the jets button once. The high speed setting however, was not working when pressing the jets button a second time. It would make a noise like it was trying to engage, then nothing. Brandon came out to look at it and quickly came to the determination that the motor needed replaced to fix the problem, despite me informing him that the current motor was approximately 2 years old. Unrelated to the high/low speed jets problem, he said our ozone component needed replaced. All in all, his estimate to replace the ozone and motor and including labor/trip charge came to $1400 plus tax. While it was more than I was hoping to spend, I told him to go ahead and do it while he was here if that will fix our problem. He had the new motor with him, conveniently. Despite the new motor being installed however, the spa has the exact same problem as before. Upon calling Brandon to inform him of this, he claimed we had the very rare instance where the problem wasn’t the motor but the circuit board. I asked if there was any refund process, or what the next steps would be since he replaced our reasonably presumed working motor only to have the same exact problem persist. He said he had already disposed of our old motor and that it didn’t matter anyway, because we had the new one installed already and there would be no refund of any kind. In the time since, I have learned more about the process and spoken with 2 additional hot tub techs for second opinions (one from Cal Spas themselves, the brand of the spa/hot tub). According to both of these sources, based on the description of my problem they would not have immediately skipped to the replacement of a motor, even without the knowledge of the motor being only approximately 2 years old. Their recommendation was to ensure the proper power was getting from the circuit board to the high speed connection on the motor. They both thought it was a very odd step to replace a major component like the pump without first testing to see if there was an issue with the circuit board, considering the test is not time consuming or complicated. TLDR: Buckeye Spa came out to fix an issue, he replaced a working motor with a new motor, I gave him $1500, and our spa has the same exact issue it had before."

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

You should always check your user's manual for the weight capacity of your pool enclosure. In most cases, it is not safe for someone to walk on their enclosure. Professional pool installers will have more experience in repairing enclosure roofs and how to scale them without risking injury.

Each state has its own regulations about pool fences, and laws to protect both swimmers and pool owners. Before installing a pool, you’ll need to research what the pool laws in your state, city, and county are to ensure that you’re adhering to the legal regulations. Inground pools typically need to have a fence around the entirety of them, but the rules regarding above-ground pools are less stringent. A good rule of thumb is to always have a fence around your pool to ensure safety for all.

The safest pool fence depends on what you’re trying to protect against. If you’re concerned about children and pets, a fence with gaps between or under the material isn’t advisable, as they could get through it. Mesh fences tend to reach the height requirements needed for pool fence safety, although they are not the most durable. Solid fence types, such as wood, concrete, or stone have the best chance of protecting the surface area around a pool, so long as they are high enough to discourage anything, or anyone, from climbing over them.

There are many factors to consider when building an in-ground concrete pool. This includes the pool’s primary purpose (relaxation or exercise) if you live in a warm or cold climate (how often it’ll be used), and if you have the budget for chemical treatments and pool maintenance. In-ground pools are often more costly than aboveground pools, but they’re considered more luxurious and hold more value.

Your pool enclosure’s lifespan will depend on the type and materials, but on average, you can expect it to last 10 to 15 years. The climate and level of maintenance will also affect how long your pool enclosure lasts.

If you’re unsure of how your pool is doing in general, you can always get a pool inspection to make sure everything’s running smoothly.
