Once the project was started, Mr. Bruno and his employees stayed in contact with me regarding progress updates as well as finding some unexpected obstacles. The haul out of the old fence took only a couple days. Despite bad weather in February and illness on the employees' part, the fence was completely installed within 2 full weeks of starting. Mr. Bruno's employees kept me informed when they found unusual materials under the ground in the yard as well as buried conduits in the path of one of the fence sections. My yard was left in better shape than when the job was started.
Throughout the entire project, it was clear that Mr. Bruno wanted to provide the best product for a fair price that would meet all of the current and futures needs as best as possible. I always felt that Mr. Bruno and his company provided a great experience and a fantastic product. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a fence no matter the size of the job.
I called Ace to give me an estimate on replacing a 30 year old chain link fence that was rusted and some of support poles were broken. I called them based on being a "Super service award " on Angies list.
The sales rep. came out and took pics. and measured the length of fence. He gave me an estimate and we decided to go with them.
He filled out a contract and I signed.
About 3 weeks later they installed fence. I had an issue with size of gate, but they explained that a 36 inch gate is really a 32 inch
gate with a 36 inch opening. I said ok I did not know that.
I looked at the fence where it meets my neighbors fence, and my new fence was 4-5 inches higher than his. My old fence was not that way. All other fence in my yard and neighbors are all 42 inch. I called salesman and was told that he was not sure
they make a 42 inch fence, but if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay for it. I immediately called the owner Rob and he said they make a 42 inch fence but said that I signed a contract for 48 inch fence and if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay extra to fix it. I told him that the sales guy had pics and to look at them. We went thru a couple more calls and he offered excuses like "well maby you will get a big dog someday". I am 69 years old and live on a fixed income and did not have more money in my budget to fix their mistake.
I ask him if he and salesman would come out and meet with me and look at it and discuss. He said he would and an appointment was set up. 2 hours before appointment he called and said old fence was buried 4 inches in ground and that's reason old fence was lower which was a lie. He never showed for appointment.
There were before and after pics. but he said I signed a contract for 48 inch fence and case closed.
"Member entered into a contract with Ace Fence & Deck LLC on April 23, 2015 to have a 4’ tall 11ga chain link fence installed. Ace Fence & Deck was to tear out existing chain link fence and replace with a new chain link fence. Member asked to have the same fence installed that was replacing the old fence. Member was unaware the height was 42” tall until it was brought to his attention by a neighbor three weeks later after the new fence was installed. Member signed a completion form on May 14, 2015 stating he was satisfied except for the "gate size but will live with it." At no point and time was the member lied to by any representative from our company. The old fence of the members was trenched into the ground and it was a difficult removal. For standard chain link gates, the gates are always smaller than the opening- this allows the gate hardware to work properly. For the fence height when the chain link fabric measures 1" over 42", the next manufactured height is 48" tall. In all of our years of business, we have never had a customer call us back weeks after the install with a complaint that the wrong fence was installed. We have before photos to show that the member's fence was taller than his neighbors before we installed the new fence along with the fence being buried in the ground. Ace Fence & Deck fulfilled the contract the member signed and agreed to, we do not feel that we are at fault in this matter. If we do not honor our contract, what is the point in having one? If you are interested in seeing the pre-job photos, feel free to contact us and we will be more than happy to share them with you."
"I am sorry you are not happy with the fence, it has been over a year since the install and we have not heard from you so it comes to a surprise when we received this review on Angie’s List. It would have been nice to have been contacted prior to you writing this review seeing that since the day I left your home after the install you were happy with the fence shook my hand and said thank you. I am unsure of what has happened between then and now. The fence was built to follow the contour of the ground and this is the correct and proper way to do so. If the sections are not installed that way this would leave an 8”-10” gap between the ground and the bottom of the fence, and I am sure this would not make you happy either. The fence we removed was also built to follow the contour of the ground, but since the rail was behind the pickets this was not as noticeable to the eye. The new vinyl fence has the rails at the top and bottom so this more noticeable and may be the optical illusion you are talking about. The reason the fence in the brochure looks different is because it is not in your yard. The fence was installed according to your yard specifications. On occasion we use your completed job photos to show customers and example of that fence style since the fence and landscaping complement each other so well. [removed member name] I know that the install process was explained to you several times and you had plenty of time to decide on your fence style. The first visit I came out for the free estimate and then followed up 2 weeks later with you. I then came back out the second time to go over the work order and install once you decided to choose my company to do the fence install. I take offense when you question the “install process and the finished product look” when I know good and well I clearly explained this to you both times I was out to meet with you. We have attached before and after photos of your fence in our photo gallery from the day we left your project and I will stand behind this install 100% in that it was done correctly and looks great! Also the only issue you had during the install was with one section next to the home and we addressed that immediately and made the necessary adjustments for your liking. Please let me know if there is something I can do."
Rob came to our house and gave us an estimate. I felt it was a little pricey
for no more than we were having done, but he assured me that the quality of material was far above what I could purchase at the "big" home improvement stores. The quality of the aluminum railing, installation and attention to detail was excellent.Licensing
