First, they brought in a tear-down team to remove the chimney down to the first-floor roof level of our two-story house. After which, they rebuilt the chimney to original height installing approximately 900 new bricks using a new Type N mortar. They installed a new 5" thick concrete crown with a 2" drip edge and an expansion joint. They replaced all accessible sections of fireplace clay flue tile extending 4" - 6" above the concrete crown. After inspection I decided that we would install a liner and new wood stove. I was already leaning this way since I've been told by several the fireplace was not built correctly. We had more smoke inside the house than out. Dan and crew came in and in one day installed a great looking wood stove insert, chimney liner and the price was excellent. Professional, cleaned up fixed several brick issues on chimney. Great job."
