"Prompt responses and focused quote visit and interaction regarding insulation R-60 goal for two attic areas and any additional suggestions. Provided a quote that was within Angi’s price range for install labor per sqft and insulation cost per sqft. Arranged install date, arrived as expected, installed drop cloths in areas affected, installed insulation, shared installed video of both areas, and thoroughly cleaned up interior work areas satisfactorily. The radiant barrier reflects the heat entering the attic back upward, keeping your home’s temperature more consistent.

Vapor barriers in attics are a bit outdated and most areas no longer recommend them for attic spaces. For vented attics, the best method is usually to install drywall and cover it with latex paint before attaching insulation fiberglass, cellulose, or foam insulation. Don’t install insulation near water heaters, oil burners, or any other object that gets hot. Many insulation materials are fire-resistant, but not entirely fire-proof, so you should take precautions to keep hot things away from fiberglass. This is also why it is imperative to box off lighting fixtures and breaker boxes.

Excluding carpet, strand-woven bamboo provides excellent underfoot heat. Laminate flooring is also good for insulation and preventing cold feet in the winter. Bamboo tends to work better in climates that have more consistent temperatures, while laminate does a better job at insulating floors in homes that experience more extreme temperature changes, such as the deciduous climates of the northeastern U.S.

High-quality moving boxes made of durable materials like plastic also help ensure the longevity of your storage, as cardboard will degrade faster over time.
