Small jobs welcome

"They were super easy to get ahold of, and work with. Zero communication problems, and they had my attic insulated within about a week of me reaching about. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves too. Zero issues, if I ever need anything insulated again, I'll 100% use them."

Customers say: Quick response

"Excellent, from start to finish. The company contacted me within moments of my request. Explained everything, quoted me a price and set up a day/time that worked with my schedule. The insulation crew were friendly and professional. I paid when the job was done, shown pics of before and after. When they left you wouldn't even know they were there. No mess at all. Would recommend this company!!!!"

"I only have positive things to say about WRI. They are clean, on time, and very customer-friendly. I have a 40'x80'pole barn and they sprayed 2" of closed-cell foam on the walls and 12" of cellulose in the attic. I'm so extremely happy with the results that I'm planning on having them do some insulating on my house. I have already recommended WRI to some of my friends and family. The last thing I want to say is that I never write reviews. In fact, this is my first one. Thank you WRI Applications."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

When it comes to fiberglass insulation versus foam board, there are a few notable differences, both aesthetically and functionally. Fiberglass insulation is soft and flexible, meaning it can be squeezed into tight spaces more easily than foam board. Fiberglass insulation also has a higher R-value, making it a better pick for colder climates. However, foam board insulation can resist moisture and pest damage much better than fiberglass.

A vapor barrier keeps moisture out of the crawl space, while insulation reduces the amount of unconditioned air—and sometimes moisture—that enters the space. Coupling a vapor barrier with insulation can help prevent humidity and related moisture damage in a crawl space while also making your home more energy-efficient. Just be sure to use insulation that won’t get damaged from moisture, like rigid foam board or expanding spray foam insulation.

Insulation can be easy to install, depending on the condition of your walls, but there are many safety considerations and potential challenges involved. For example, most types of insulation are made from materials that can cause irritation if inhaled or if they come into contact with your skin. Additionally, installing insulation incorrectly can actually make moisture issues in your home worse.

You’ve likely heard the saying “heat rises”—well, it’s true! This is why it is critical to properly insulate your attic and protect yourself from chilly winter nights. During summer, your attic insulation will also protect against excessive heat gain radiating through the ceiling into the rest of your home below.

Cellulose insulation is usually made from recycled paper products, such as old newspapers, but cellulose might also contain recycled denim. While most homeowners traditionally buy cellulose insulation to use for installation, it is possible to make your own at home with old newspapers, cardboard, a paper shredder, and boric acid (important for fireproofing your cellulose insulation materials).
