"Called Koby Electric because my house electric would not stay on when running my furnace.  Kept blowing a breaker in the main breaker box.  Called Koby Electric on Saturday, February 6th and was immediately scheduled for an electrician to come out on Monday, February 8th.  Electrician arrived as scheduled at 8:30 a.m., and immediately began evaluating my issue.  He determined that our main electrical box and wiring going into the box needed replaced.  He quoted me the price above and I advised him that I wanted it done.  Since we were without heat he called his boss to find out if they could get this scheduled ASAP for completion.  He couldn't get ahold of his boss but assured me that he would call me later to advise.  He left my place and 5 minutes later he called me and advised he would return the next day to get my electrical service updated.  On February 9th he showed up at 8:00 a.m. as promised and went to work right away.  About 5.5 hours or so later my electrical service was completely updated and I no longer has issues with breakers tripping.
Before calling Koby I called one of their competitors, and was told that they could not get someone out to my house until February 16th.  I was without heat and advised them of this and they said "sorry" but we can't help you any sooner.  Let me tell you Koby Electric will be my go to company for any electrical needs in the future.  The electrician was courteous, answered all my questions and was a very hard worker.  GREAT JOB!!!  HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

"We had Jason install 10 dimmable recessed lights and replace two lights in our bathroom. Jason was prompt, professional, and polite and based on that he was the only quote we sought out. Jason did the job exactly as explained... actually better, and did a good job cleaning up as well. Would definitely recommend and hire for future projects."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

The five common types of landscape lighting are up-lighting, down-lighting, spotlights, built-in lighting, and pathway lighting.

  • Up-lighting casts light upwards from the ground, mostly for aesthetic purposes.

  • Down-lighting directs light onto the ground, lighting pathways, or outdoor space.

  • Spotlights cast direct, focused lighting in any direction.

  • Built-in lighting integrates lighting into an outdoor feature.

  • Pathway lighting illuminates walkways, increasing safety.

There are a number of reasons that landscape lights burn out, including an incorrectly installed transformer, inconsistent voltage, and burned-out or faulty bulbs. Troubleshoot landscape lighting problems by first determining whether it’s a system-wide problem or an issue with just one light, which will help you get to the bottom of your outdoor lighting woes.

Installations include new light fixtures, upgraded panels, fixed outlets, and tracked wiring continuity.

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.
