"He worked hard clearing out the honeysuckle and small trees in our backyard. He carried limbs to a dumpster. He pulled out the roots and graded the ground. He was very diligent in meeting my needs and making sure all my requests were met. I appreciate how he spent time walking the property with me to ensure I was satisfied."

"I had dirt hauled to our house, and I was pleased with the job. The dirt was delivered to the very spot I requested. Brody was very friendly and careful. I will definitely use them for any plumbing/excavating jobs I may encounter in the future."

"We had damaged and clogged culvert pipes that had led to severe erosion under our driveway. We got a couple of quotes, and Dave was the only one who seemed concerned about minimizing our costs. He and his crew managed to salvage most of the existing materials, which saved us a huge amount of money. Helpful things to know: They came when Dave said they would come. They worked VERY hard, on some extremely hot days. They were meticulous. The repairs look very solid, and the area was left looking neat and clean. I would absolutely hire them again!"

"Carter and James and their entire team were excellent. They followed up on each and every step of the process. Additionally they came when they said they would and completed the landscape project on time and stayed late making sure the area was completely cleaned up. I highly recommend working with G2 Homescapesâ ¦.they did an excellent job on our landscape project and we couldnâ t be happier with the results!!!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

The cost to drill a well varies, with a national average of around $5,500 for a 150-foot well. However, prices can fluctuate significantly based on several factors, including your location, the required well depth, geological conditions, local regulations, and the specific drilling methods used. For the most accurate cost assessment, it is best to research and get quotes from local well-drilling professionals in your area.

Because decomposed granite is a durable material, a crushed rock or gravel base is optional as long as the DG is properly installed and compacted. However, installing a base is a good idea because it will ensure proper drainage and stability and act as a weed suppressant (although you may still occasionally have to pull weeds). Installing an adequate base can also increase the durability of driveways and walkways. If you forego the paver base or gravel underneath, line the area with landscaping fabric to avoid weeds.

Completion time ranges from days to weeks, contingent on project size, environmental conditions, and regulatory approvals.

Yes, an excavation company is the best option for land grading and yard leveling. General landscapers might be able to tackle these projects, but an excavation company will do a better job because they’re used to operating the necessary heavy machinery. Landscapers might opt to do the work manually, which takes much longer and could cost you more in labor fees. Finally, excavation companies will understand local regulations and know when you need permits to legalize the work, while a landscaper might not.

Slab foundations are more affordable than crawl spaces because they require minimal excavation, as the slab sits directly on the ground or on footers that only sink a few feet into the ground. Crawl spaces require excavation of the entire footprint of the home to several feet below the surface. Not only does that mean higher labor costs, but more materials are necessary for the concrete foundation walls.
