"Victors came out to do an inspection on my 16 old roof and found lots of issues I wasn't aware of. The salesman showed me photos AND videos of the issues, which made me feel at ease knowing they weren't just trying to get my money. In under 1 week, the crew was there replacing my roof and I couldn't be happier with it! Everyone I came in contact was very professional, helpful and nice, from beginning to end. Though this was a little more than I anticipated spending on a new roof, I feel like it was totally worth it, knowing that I got good quality materials and workmanship, not to mention the warranty! Roofers don’t typically replace vent pipes themselves, but they do handle the flashing and seals around vent pipes when working on a roof. During a roof replacement or repair, roofers inspect the vent pipe flashing for damage, replace deteriorated seals, and ensure the pipe is properly integrated into the roofing system to prevent leaks. If the vent pipe itself is cracked or damaged, a plumber is usually required to replace it, while the roofer ensures the roofing components around the pipe remain watertight.

You cannot replace granules that have been lost off shingles. The granule embedding process is part of shingle manufacturing, and once the bond holding the granules to the shingles has been lost, the granules are gone for good. Shingles with granule loss must be fully replaced to continue offering adequate protection.

Sticky shoes help, but you shouldn't be walking on the steel roof— let the pros do that. it's dangerous enough to walk on asphalt shingled roofs which have quite a bit of texture. Stone coating adds a lot of grip, but it still doesn't lock your foot down, so if you absolutely have to be on the roof, make sure you’re secured in another way, like with the harness and rope.

Condensation can occur on the inside of a roof, but it should always be temporary. It does not necessarily mean there is a roof leak. Condensation happens when the inside and outside of a house are at different temperatures. For instance, if it is hot during the day and then gets very cold at night, the inside of the house will be warmer than the outside and may cause condensation to form on the inside of the attic. This may not be cause for concern, but if it is happening frequently, it should be addressed; otherwise, it could cause roof leaks, compromise the structural integrity of the wood, or allow mold to grow.

You shouldn’t put a new roof underlayment over an old one for a few reasons. Old felt must be removed in order to assess the condition of your roof decking, such as rotting wood or other structural issues. Also, if your roofer doesn't install a fresh layer of felt as is required by shingle manufacturers, your warranty may be voided. Finally, old underlayment removal is often included in the cost of roof repair or replacement, so there's no real benefit to leaving it on before installing a new layer.
