"We had a problem with our bathtub and sinks not draining in our house that has weird, old plumbing. It was taken care of very quickly and we couldn’t be happier with the service. We have had their help with many different fixes now from plumbing to drywall to door replacement and every time it has been fixed up perfectly and the guys have been absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!!"

"After speaking with multiple contractors, it was an easy decision to go with Top Notch Construction. Troy provided a competitive and easy to follow bid, and he always responded quickly when we had questions. Troy and his crew did quality work, and they were very accommodating to the multiple changes we requested throughout the project. When they were finished, we had a huge remodeled laundry/mudroom, a great looking office, and a freshly painted main floor. Troy and his team were always respectful and a pleasure to have in our home. We couldn't be happier with how the project turned out, and we would highly recommend Top Notch Construction for anyone looking for quality work at a fair price."

"Working with the owner of the company, Tyler, was a great experience. It is really nice to have the owner of the company in the field making sure everything goes smoothly and that how everything went from beginning to end. Harrier construction helped demo and repair multiple drywall patches as well as getting rid of an old shed and cleaning everything behind him leaving no mess."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

New plaster must be fully dry and cured before painting. The drying time for plaster ranges from 1 to 4 hours, but the curing process can take more than five days, depending on various factors, including humidity levels, temperature, the amount of plaster used, and airflow in the area. You should always apply primer before painting plaster.

A utility knife is sharp enough to score the drywall and it may work in a pinch for outlet box holes. However, one of the best tools for drywall when you need to make exact cuts for an outlet box quickly is a drywall saw. This handheld tool has a longer blade than a utility knife, so it penetrates the thickness of the drywall easily. The design of its handle and the teeth in its blade make it easier to control while cutting quicker than you can with a utility knife.

Drywall can get wet and dry out without sustaining permanent damage, but only if the water damage is minor. If you have a small leak and are quick to correct the issue and set up blower fans and dehumidifiers, your drywall should dry out. If the leak is persistent, the drywall becomes totally waterlogged, or mold begins forming on the drywall, you should remove and replace it.

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

Costs depend on labor, material quality, wall preparation, and finishing requirements.
