"Brent Collier was my connection with Buckeye State Roofing. He was excellent to work with and helped me submit an insurance claim which paid for a good part of the roof repairs. Brent was very professional in getting me a quote, helping to manage the insurance claim, scheduling the work and getting it done in a timely fashion. All work was done very well. However, getting that life span from your thatched roof requires more maintenance than you’d need for most other materials, including fireproofing, brushing, cleaning, and rethatching as the material gets worn down. Ice and water shield is also easier to install because you don’t need additional tools or fasteners to attach it to the roof deck.

Mansard roofs are still popular in Paris, where they originated, and throughout France. In the United States, you can find mansard roofs on some older buildings in Manhattan. The architecture also appears on some Victorian and Colonial-style homes. There are pockets of homes with mansard roofs in New York City and Los Angeles, where they were once more popular than they are today.
