"Tom was hard-working, meticulous, and polite throughout the long process of renovating a section of our basement. Sometimes working with an assistant, he repaired walls that had been damaged by water. He removed a shelf and some unnecessary trim that had been attached to walls, then repaired areas underneath. He scraped and removed paint from existing walls (including several types of wall material -- drywall and exposed stone), woodwork, etc. He cleaned and painted four window well areas which had been covered with years of grime and debris. He carefully painted ceiling, which consisted of many exposed pipes, valves and fixtures, using a dark brown paint in order to camouflage those previously very visible and ugly features.  He repaired drywall in many areas of both rooms. He painted the walls, the trim, the doors, the stairwell, and the stairs."

"The service went well. They were running late, and they called and told me they were running a late. They asked if they could arrive a half hour late. I said yes, and they did so. They removed and disposed of the insulation. They also cleaned the mold from the wood and walls. And they set off an air based mold killing product too kill anything they could not see or reach. So far, so good."

"I cannot adequately describe how great our experience was with Uptown Painting. Dave and his crew did an excellent job from start to finish. We had all of the challenges; high ceilings, different colors of paint, extensive trim painted with oil based paint, furniture, mostly hardwood floors, plants and many windows. They carefully protected everything which at times took a considerable amount of time. They were very careful throughout the entire project to make sure they didn't damage anything. Anyone who has hardwood floors knows that you have to be extremely careful not to damage or scratch the floors. Every day Dave discussed the plans for that day. He planned the work to minimize disruption so we were able to use the rooms. Every morning he asked if we were satisfied with the work. The quality of their work was superior. They were so meticulous that they found minor touch ups before we noticed them. They did a great job of cleaning up and left our home spotless. They exceeded all of our expectations. "Over all the project went well. I would say it was more than insulation as they brought in infrared video and the negative pressure tested the house with smoke indicators to find issues and seal gaps. They crawled the attic and sealed all electric entries and then sprayed insulation 8-10 inches deep. They also peeled back the siding on one side of the house and cut into the exterior wall to seal and insulate the knee wall that runs along the front of the house. The biggest issue as to no surprise was the unfinished basement. It was like a wind tunnel during the vacuum test. So there is not much to do about that besides finishing the walls and ceilings. So end result is the entire upstairs is about 3.5 degrees warmer at same furnace settings after the tests and insulation. Also, an added bonus: My roof is no longer melting snow near the knee wall and no more ice from the gutters . The house feels tighter. The crew was thorough and communicating what they found. They worked diligently the entire day. I would highly recommend A&J services to anyone who is looking for professional quality work.
