Mr. Jerry couldn't come out on the original date we agreed to but kept in constant contact and finally came out, gave me a quote and we agreed to a price. Mr. Jerry and his worker went above and beyond what he agreed to do. He cleaned up the side of my house, cleaned off my back deck and cut over growth from my fence so it could be seen. This was very important since we're getting ready to list our house for sale. We are very happy with the completed project. Highly recommend. Be patient as they are a small company. "We hired K-Guard to replace our gutters with their leaf free gutter system in the fall of 2016. The sales rep came out and looked at our house and did not express any concerns. Our roof is shaped like an "H" so has several internal angles. During light rains, the gutters perform as advertised. During moderate or heavy rains, we get waterfalls at all of the internal angles. I emailed our sales rep about this and he came out and slapped some ugly mesh in the corners that didn't help the issue much. During the next follow up we were told "Sorry, that's just the design of your roof. There's nothing we can do about it." We have just learned to live with it. Fast forward to 2020, the gutters are showing signs of a clog. I can shine a light into them and see the dirt and debris build up under the shield. We called K-Guard to take advantage of their "Lifetime Clog Free Guarantee" only to be told they won't even come out to look at the issue unless we pre-approve a $150 charge if they "determine the issue isn't due to a clog." We spent nearly $15,000 on gutters and this is the kind of value we have received. Avoid this company at all costs."

Lilac roots are typically not destructive, but they can be a nuisance. Lilac roots can extend 15 feet in all directions of your garden. Therefore, the roots can reach water and sewer lines in search of moisture and nutrients if you’ve planted them too close. Yet, the lilac roots aren’t likely to cause any damage to water or sewer lines. Instead, the roots will overtake the area. 

Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump. However, you need to drill holes or cut into the stump and surface tree roots to inject them properly with the salt. Repeat the process every two weeks until the roots visibly rot away.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.

If your stump has a pest problem, don’t worry; it won’t slow down the stump grinding process. It might even speed it up. But you may want to contact pest control afterward if it looks like a spreading infestation.
