They are very mindful of the neighborhood, and made sure that they had placed equipment on site, in a safe location. So as not to create disruptive traffic and walking patterns in a vibrant neighborhood,. A thoughtful consideration that most companies don't appreciate nor even have a concept of doing.
Every single technician, crew worker, and foreman on site was knowledgeable, hard working, and friendly. Open to questions and information on the task at hand. Each day on the job, water and sewer were available for us to use during the day and evening. When things needed to be shut down it was for less than an hour , and only for 1 time actually. . That in itself is an unbelievably hard promise to achieve for important essential piping being tied in to a new line.
As far as the worry, that was a waste of my time. If you are able to move your perennials to an area of your yard that you will be able to water, not in direct sun. Employ a tarp and some buckets for large plants, the 3 day job is plenty of time to survive and be replanted by the homeowner. This was an easy task, that I was able to do, in a few hours after the job was completed. It is in your best interest to move the plants in the line of the sewer pipe from your house. Including stepping stones and other hardscaping you may have in an established landscaped yard.

During the process, after the company excavated the line, there was a lot of debris in the line, and they suggested excavating further back to where the pipe was clean. I called Brad's Plumbing and sent him a picture of the line which he was confident was not an issue. Not only did he return my call quickly he was able to schedule the snaking for the next day. The pipe was quickly and efficiently snaked. I placed the initial call for service around 1pm asking for help to clear a blocked sewer main. The call was professional, and we set a time for his arrival. A gentleman named Jake showed up to the appointment, on time and ready to get to work. I had explained the issue in more detail, and he was off and working. All of his work was preformed outside, during a mini hail/snow/ rain storm. Jake even had to do some digging to find an access point where he could perform his work. Jake remained mindful of the landscaping while digging, and he put everything back where it belonged when he was done. He remained busy on the job until the issue was resolved. After the drain was fixed, he took the time to explain what he did, and what steps I needed to take to prevent the sewer from becoming clogged again. I would recommend him to anyone looking for plumbing services.

About 20 minutes into exterminating, they told me to get a plumber out immediately and that I had a sewer or drain line problem causing the problem. I got someone out and my kitchen drain line was rotted out, the source of entry for the roaches. Never in a million years would I have thought. They were right. A week and a half later, almost all the roaches are gone. I was ready to move out of the house. Gabe and Neil even coordinated with the plumber so that they were exterminating under the house and in the wall when it was open. I have used this provider once before to clear a clog in the same drain line. On the previous occasion the clog was far enough along in the drain line that it was forcing the drain by the laundry area to back up. On this occasion the clog was closer to the point where the drain line becomes vertical and was affecting only the sinks and toilets upstairs, not the basement drains. Gentleman who answered said he would take my info and description of the problem and have someone call me back. A woman called back about 10 minutes later (whom I assumed worked for the provider) and provided pricing info for their after hours service ($89 service call, min. $250 for first hour of labor). She asked me if wanted to dispatch the provider now or wait until morning. I asked what the difference in price would be if I waited until morning. She said there would be no service call charge and charges for drain cleaning would probably be around $95 if I waited. I opted to schedule them to arrive between 8 am and 10 am the following morning. The plumber arrived the next morning and investigated the problem. He informed me that the charge for using the \"medium sized\" cleaning auger would be $179.00 but if that didn't clear the clog then he'd have to use the \"large\" auger at a cost of $269.00. I asked why the pricing was so much higher than what was quoted by the woman I spoke with the prior evening. He said \"those are just the people from our answering service and they should not be quoting prices at all\". I mentioned that part of why I was asking about charges was because I was a member of Angie's List and noticed that there were some coupons available for this provider's service. I also mentioned that I had used this provider before for the exact same problem (about two years earlier) and had used an Angie's List coupon at that time ($79 for drain cleaning of 1 drain). The same coupon was available this time only the price had gone up to $99.00 and did not cover the $59.00 service call. He said that it would be a good idea for me to purchase that $99.00 coupon, especially if it turns out that the \"medium\" sized auger was unable to clear the clog in the drain line. He seemed to struggle quite a bit with the medium sized auger, mainly because there were several bad kinks in the auger cable that prevented it from being properly extended far enough into the drain line. He even took the medium sized auger outside at one point in order to full extend the cable and attempt to straighten it. However, he was still unable to clear the clog with that machine and had to use the large auger. The clog was finally cleared after a total of about two hours of work. I presented the $99 coupon and asked him to give me a total for any remaining amount I owed. He gave me a total of $170.00. I was expecting him to only charge me for the $59 service call, per the terms of the coupon so I asked him what the full charge was excluding any coupons. He said the total charge was $269.00 because he had to use the large auger. I pointed out to him that it's nice they're willing to accept the Angie's List coupon for $99 but if I still owed $170 above and beyond that then I'm still ultimately paying a total of $269.00. He then said he'd have to call his boss. A few minutes later he returned and said that the coupon does not apply as payment in full for this type of drain cleaning because he had to clean part of the main sewer line. I told him understood that but this was the same part of the same main drain line they cleaned the last time for $79 with the only difference being that the location of the clog was actually further along in the drain line on the previous occasion. He insisted that really they probably should not have applied the $79 coupon as payment in full on the previous occasion. I'm still a little fuzzy on exactly where the demarcation is between a common waste stack in a house and the home's \"main sewer\" line since technically all the drains in our home connect to the common waste stack. Furthermore, the fine print details of the coupon, which I understand are written by the provider, state that the customer \"must have accessible, ground level clean out for drain\". I'm having trouble envisioning what type of \"ground level clean out\" they might be referring to other than the one that is typically available on the main waste stack (main sewer line) for the home. I can understand that for $99 they don't want to get caught up in having to dig up someone's front yard to clean out the main sewer line but we're talking about running a snake from the basement of the home for maybe 10 or fifteen feet to dislodge a clog and frankly, I'm still wondering whether he really needed to use the \"large\" cleaning auger because the medium sized auger was ineffective due to the cable being kinked up and in a poorly maintained condition. I will probably shop around for a different plumbing service in the future."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/oh/cleveland/mayer-plumbing-and-heating-reviews-60799.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Active Rooter® Plumbing & Drain Cleaning LLC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"OH","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Sharon K."},"reviewBody":"
Both times Mark and his son were prompt, cordial, and careful not to make a mess while snaking the sewer lines. The entire job could have been done in one visit, but we were in the middle of helping our son move to his new place and decided two visits were be more convenient for us. We were very impressed by the whole experience, the detail directions of what they would do to correct the issue, and all costs were given up front. We will definitely use Active Rooter, again, for any other similar issues with our plumbing.

Because this was an urgent request, they called around to find a contractor who could get to the repair ASAP. On The Spot said they could get to it that morning after 10 am, so the warranty company sent the work order to them. After a couple of hours I called On the Spot to see if they could give me a time, and they tried to schedule for the next day. I refused because I needed it done that day. They agreed to come between 1 and 5 pm. They called me back again and tried to reschedule for that afternoon and I said no. They eventually showed up at 6pm. The plumber and his assistant were friendly. They snaked the drain line and it appeared the drains were working better but not great. He tried to tell me I had a blocked vent line which would cost additional money to fix. I wanted a second opinion before sending anymore money and the toilets worked slowly so I could wait until tomorrow. The next day (Tuesday), when I went outside to look at what they had done, I found out they broke one of my clean outs and did not fix the blockage. The sewage was just going out the vent pipe instead of into the sewer. I called them back and they said they couldn't come out until (Wednesday). I was angry since I had raw sewage dumping into my back yard, but I agreed since I had no other options. When I called on Wednesday they said they would schedule for Thursday. I said no and called the home warranty. They home warranty called On The Spot, who decided they could do it on Wednesday. They told me they would be there between 1 and 5 pm again. This worked for me since I had an important meeting that morning. During the meeting I turned off my cell phone. On the Spot called me at 10 am and said they were at my house. They left 15 minute later. I didn't get the call since I was in the meeting and wasn't expecting them until 1pm. In the end I had to use another plumber who quickly came out and fixed what should have been an easy repair. FAQs for sewer line repair projects in East Sparta, OH
The average cost to snake your main sewer line is around $250 for a simple snake. Most sewer line specialists charge between $45 and $200 per hour for main sewer line snaking, so the time involved plays a major role. The price you’ll pay will depend on the severity of the clog, the item causing the backup, how long it takes to remove the item, and more. A more severe issue that requires unclogging a main sewer line will cost $3,100 on average.
Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
You should not attempt to snake your sewer yourself. Accessing and snaking your sewer requires heavy-duty equipment, and while renting is possible, misusing it can damage your sewer main and leave you with very expensive repair costs, not to mention potential environmental issues and severe water damage. Accessing your sewer also exposes you to hazardous sewer gasses, and failing to seal the sewer properly after work can be very dangerous. It’s always best to hire a professional sewer cleaner near you to handle this type of work.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Hiring a professional to snake the toilet or sink will usually cost between $110 and $275, a bathtub or shower typically costs around $225, and a main line clog can cost between $100 and $800 based on the severity of the clog and how far beyond the access point the clog sits. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350.
