"Yes, they did an excellent job. The only hitch was in a purchased faucet handle for the shower. It was missing screws, so someone had to come back two days later to install the handle. Otherwise, quick and beautiful job completed in one day."

"Had water seeping in during heavy rains from where the wall meets the floor in my basement. Approximately 60 ft. Met with the salesman and got a good description of their product and company history. The crew showed up early in the morning. Jay, Roosevelt, and Shane worked hard throughout the day. Very professional. Found some additional issues after they removed drywall. Gave me some pricing and ideas on fixing those issues and kept me informed of overall progress. End of the day the work looks great. Looking forward to a dry basement. Liked the fact that Jay had been with the company for 3 years. Means they treat their people right and you are getting experience. Good closing call with Adam. Great job on the cleanup. Very satisfied."

"We had a new shower installed in our main bedroom. It was an excellent experience. The installer did a great job with putting down tarps and cleaning up after he was completed. He always double checked with us to make sure that he was installing the fixtures, grab bars , and shelves where we wanted them. It was installed in one LONG day but it was worth it. As with everything, I with anything you should always check around for the best price. I would recommend them."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Start by hiring a licensed professional to inspect your pipe materials and evaluate your sewer lateral with a camera. Because many older OH homes contain corroded galvanized supply lines or root-damaged clay sewer pipes, identifying these hazards is critical. You must also test your sump pump and verify it has a working battery backup. Finally, confirm your outdoor hose bibs feature interior shutoffs to prevent severe winter freeze damage.

Helpful?

As homes age throughout OH, original cast iron and galvanized pipes deteriorate and require replacement. Houses built before the 1970s feature partial re-pipes, creating mixed-material systems that cause pressure issues at transition points. In newer construction, sump pumps and water heaters eventually reach the end of their lifespans. You must monitor these older systems and schedule professional plumbing updates to correct improper material transitions and replace failing fixtures.

Helpful?

Distinguishing plumbing from other issues requires checking specific symptoms. If you notice a wet basement only after heavy rain, address your foundation or grading. Conversely, sewage odors or multiple slow drains indicate a sewer lateral blockage requiring plumbing attention. Puddles near your air conditioner point to HVAC condensate drain issues. Since Dover homeowners maintain their own sewer laterals, hire a licensed professional to inspect any persistent drainage problems.

Helpful?

Build your seasonal plumbing routine around local weather patterns. In the spring, test your sump pump to prepare for heavy rain and river flooding. During summer, inspect washing machine hoses for wear. Before the first freeze in Dover, shut off and drain all outdoor hose bibs, and insulate pipes in unheated spaces. Throughout winter, keep your thermostat above 55 degrees to prevent pipes from bursting during extreme cold snaps.

Helpful?

If you live in an older Dover home, watch for discolored or rust-tinged water, which signals corroded galvanized pipes. Inspect your basement utility areas for visible pipe joints wrapped in tape or temporary sealants. You should also check for drain lines running at inconsistent slopes, pointing to improper earlier repairs. Because OH water is moderately hard, mineral buildup causes frequent clogging, meaning past plumbing fixes require a professional update.
