"I know we all love a good review, so I thought I’d drop about Precision Window Cleaning. We had SO MUCH construction dust from the houses being built and yards graded around us that our windows were covered with a nice thick layer of grim. These guys did awesome. Inside and out, screens and window sills. And double bonus, I was totally comfortable with them in my house with the kids home. Very professional and job well done!"

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes. Every toaster is bound to accumulate a build-up of crumbs and food particles. If left unattended, these can turn into a fire hazard.

Only if the dishwasher isn’t made of stainless steel. The corrosive chemicals in bleach will stain stainless steel and can also cause further damage. To stay on the safe side, stick with an extra cycle of vinegar to banish any lingering odors.

Add cleaning your stovetop to your weekly kitchen cleaning checklist. Make sure to wipe down any spills after cooking, and once the stove is cool to the touch and it’s safe to do so. This maintenance will ensure your stovetop and its burners are easy to clean and eliminate caked-on, hard-to-scrub food residue.

You can always use a homemade vinegar solution as a natural alternative to commercial cleaning products. To make and use a vinegar cleaning solution, fill a spray bottle with equal parts white distilled vinegar and warm water. Spray the solution liberally across the tub surface. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before wiping it down with a non-abrasive sponge or cleaning cloth, then rinse with clean water. If a line of soap scum is still visible, spray it with the vinegar solution. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush to gently scrub the residue away before wiping it down and rinsing again.

How often you clean a bathroom depends on how often you use it and how many people are in your home. In general, a bathroom should be cleaned once per week or every other week. But a bathroom deep-clean done at least every two weeks allows you to keep bacteria and mildew away.
