"Had the whole house insulated in 2016. Just found out that there is now mold in the attic. Have had three different contractors come to look at it and ALL have said the reason is because when the insulation was blown into the attic they did not take the time to rake it away from the soffits. Now I'm faced with a major repair bill of $3000 to eliminate the mold. Plus, to make matters worse, my utility bill did not go down very much after having this done. Only thing I can say is that the house is more comfortable. So beware if you use this company and make sure they install the insulation into your attic correctly!"

"The company was very supportive and accommodating. They took their time during the initial visit to review our attic before supplying a competitive quote which we accepted. They stuck by the quote during the completion of the job even though part of the attic required some additional insulation. Both Jose and Sergio were extremely thorough and professional. I will definitely recommend them to others without hesitation."

"My wife and I attended a presentation by James Manfield, the owner of GreenForce. We were impressed with company product and Jame's punctuality, professionalism and honesty. We decided to hire his company to add insulation to attic of my in-laws house. The installers came on time and over 9 hours managed to complete 95% of the job. The installers were polite, professional and clean. The subsequent installers came next day and completed the job. We are very pleased with James and the service provided by his company. As FYI, we had similar radiant barrier installed by another company in our own house in 2012 and we were pleased with the reduction in heating and cooling cost."

"After having a major pipe bust and leak issue repaired, we then had to fix up water damage as well as damage left by plumbers trying to fix our problems. One of the damages at hand was wet insulation and wet and rotting boards holding that insulation up underneath the side of our kitchen where it meets our back porch (about 2 feet off the ground).
Tom came out and not only removed the section that was damaged, but pulled out basically the whole row of boards and insulation that followed along where our kitchen and porch meet (not damaged, but older). He then added all new insulation and replaced all the boarding holding it up. His charge for all of this doesn't seem fair... to him.
Now, when just about anything needs fixed around the house, we are ready to give Tom a call!

"I contacted RoofWise Roofing Inc in July 2010 to get an estimate on replacing the roof of my ranch house. An estimator came out and walked over the roof and then discussed replacing it with me. We also discussed replacing a damaged gutter in the front, repairing a sagging back gutter which did not drain properly, and putting a rain barrel in. He suggested clips to hold the gutter up, but said it might not work. He answered my questions and explained different components of the roofing system thoroughly. He was pleasant, helpful and seemed very knowledgeable. He explained that a likely future consequence of getting a ridge vent would be that I might need more insulation. This was helpful and made me feel he cared about the overall functioning of the house. He recommended chimney caps for the chimney and new soil stack boots. He offered to get roofing shingle samples and put them on the roof to help me decide on a color. He also showed me some sample shingles.
I received a bid within a week. It was very professionally done and the price was reasonable compared to my other two bids. A helpful pre-roofing checklist was included. RoofWise offered a 5 year warranty on parts and labor, which was very good. My decision was difficult because all of the companies I interviewed sounded good. I give RoofWise an A in a relevant categories. My one suggestion is that they work on developing a more consistent and professional telephone response, when someone calls the office."

When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.
Will you address air leaks in my house?
Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?
What kind of insulation will work best for my home?
How do you handle signs of a water leak?
Are you licensed and insured?
Can you provide customer references?
The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.
If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.
In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:
High heating and cooling bills
Uncomfortable room temperatures
Ice dams on the edge of your roof
Roof leaks
Cold floors and walls
Freezing pipes
Temperature fluctuations
Visibly low insulation
Noise problems
Pest problems
On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:
Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot
Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot
Batt: $2–$4 per square foot
Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot
Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot
Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
