"Christian responded the same day to my request for a free quote on our drywall project. He sent out his specialist, J.D., three days later to look at the damaged area. The following Wednesday J.D. completed a flawless repair in two hours. He created a smooth surface without any sanding and no dust, then vacuumed the area when he was done. Speedy Drywall Repair does excellent work, plus they are personable and professional. We will call them again with any drywall needs in the future."

"Tom and his crew did an excellent job removing a soffit in my kitchen, removing drywall where a tile backsplash was removed, and repairing both. The ceiling has a rosebud texture and the matching ceiling texture Tom applied is perfect (in the attached photo the left side is old texture and the right is the repair). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any drywall repair or ceiling repair work."

"Everything was fabulous! The house looks and smells great. I would absolutely hire again and would be very interested in hiring them on a once-a-month basis. I appreciate the fact that Adrian wasn't constantly trying to sell me anything. I even had to ask for a quote for cleaning on a fulltime basis! Other companies that I have used spent most of the cleaning time trying to sell me future services, but this company is different. They are obviously dedicated to working hard and doing a good job. I'm very pleased and very impressed with the work that was done. FYI: This was a purchase through an Angie's List Deal."

"My husband and I took on the major task of completely gutting and renovating a 1850's farm house.  We full well knew that we could do many things on our own, however, drywall is nothing that we wanted to attempt.  We originally hired Rich to hang and finish the drywall throughout the entire 3,000 sq ft house. His estimate was great, his professionalism was wonderful and we felt very comfortable with him working in our home while we were away at work.  In the process of renovating, a storm blew a very large tree on the majority of our home, creating even more work that needed to be done. And, to beat it all, I was 8 months pregnant at the time. Rich was very flexible in working around the tree crisis and being sensitive to the changes in our family structure as well. Rich had the majority of our home completed and ready for paint in less than 1 month. The remaining portions, were still under repair from the tree so those had to be done at a later time. Rich was always there when he said he would be, he was always very straight forward about changes that needed to be done and decisions he felt would be in our best interest. At a later time, we hired Rich to complete the drywall in the rest of the house as well as paint those areas. He helped in picking colors as well as making suggestions for type of paint etc. Rich is not only a drywaller and painter to our family but a part of it. My husband and I would never trust anyone else to do the work in our house except for Rich.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.

The time it takes for thinset to dry is determined by your room’s ambient temperature and humidity levels. Assuming the average humidity level is around 40% with an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, thinset can dry within 48 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity can extend the curing process beyond 72 hours, while high heat and zero humidity can shorten the curing process. However, thinset can crack if it dries too fast.

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.

Textured walls can increase the value of your home if the style is modern and seen as a desirable feature and not something a prospective buyer would need to remedy. A good example of this is popcorn texture versus Venetian plaster. The plaster wall would add value to your home, whereas the popcorn texture may be something a new buyer would want to remove.

Yes, you can put paneling over textured walls. Of course, this will come down to personal preference and the type of paneling you want to install. From board-and-batten to shiplap and wainscoting, there are plenty of options to choose from.
