"Not well. The young men who came were pleasant, but inexperienced. The job was to sweep AND inspect. They said it did not need sweeping (though we later found out it did) and they asked if we wanted an outside inspection as if it were an add-on. It was raining and I guess they did not want to get wet. They then were delayed sending us a quote and when we asked for one, it was nebulous and prohibitively expensive. Four quotes later we found a company that would do the work needed and not upsell us. We paid $250 effectively for nothing."

One of my co-workers had John fix his chimney after a tree fell on it years ago, and he was happy with the job they had done. Even though it was a lot of money, his quote was significantly cheaper than another replacement quote, and I went with them. It turned out that the chimney brick was coming off in sheets because some previous company had disposed excess concrete down the chimney, between the flue liner and brick, so there was no room for expansion, or for a place for the water to go when the chimney crown started leaking. Mr. Chimney finished the chimney, all the flashing done the right way, replaced the shingles around the chimney where they were working, cleaned up, fixed some other pre-existing issues, and the chimney looks great!"
